He should be more OCD about not letting his wheels rust to complete shit.

It will not screw up a 5 tire rotation OP. Just keep rotating the new one in.

In the future, put on a jacket and change the oil ;) also clean your wheels.

First of all........OP = SHE.............and they probably fucked up the tire trying to get on or off the lift for the oil change....if it was a drive on one. Otherwise, not sure how they'd fuck up a tire like that doing rotation.

So this took several read throughs to understand. There's some punctuation but not enough.

So it was cold, you didn't want to do your oil change. I get that. Convenience.

Walmart checks diff oil? I had no idea til I googled it. Not gonna lie, I've used Walmart, mostly while traveling, never had an issue with oil changes. They have one of the cheapest synthetic oil changes, next to doing it yourself.
Lube services (except Pit Crew) include:
Vacuum interior | Wash exterior windshield | Check and fill transmission fluid | Check and fill washer fluid | Check battery performance | Check and fill power steering fluid | Check air filter | check and fill differential fluid | check wiper blades | check and adjust tire pressure | check headlines | check signal, brake and taillights

They gouged your tire? Not sure how that happens with a rotation. Then you mentioned how you're going to ask if you can keep it so you can have an extra spare. I assume they gave you a replacement? Well, the customer is always right, according to that ol timey saying. A new tire is probably a drop in the barrel for such a large corporation.

It's been funny to read posts about how defensive people are of Walmart, two that I apparently am an idiot or something and I normally do all my work, three it doesn't matter what shop did the rotation hey shouldn't damage the tire when putting it on the wheel. And for the OCD wheel thing I agree the spare rim sucks but I have been patiently shopping for two matching wheels for my taco.

Thanks PIGPEN I appreciate the support. All I ever wanted was my spare to keep going into the rotation so if I ever used a spare off road the tread would be the same :(

And a girl can be cold and tired from climbing all day and not expect her truck to be tortured at an oil and lube place :(

Take a pic of the whole tire. I'm willing to bet the marks you see are two parallel lines on the side wall... it's from the frame when the tire is raised all the way.

This was the spare tire and rim? Anything could caused the gouging, it may not have been WallyWorld's fault, but they are replacing it...so you are good to go....personally, I would never use them for maintenance, but I do buy my synthetic oils there...

Actually what is really funny is that nobody defended Walmart.. If they rotated the tires now did they damage the tire removing it from the wheel? They don't mount/dismount tires from the wheels on these vehicles... Some vehicles they have to mount and dismount due to different off sets for front vs rear wheels. Your saying what you want to and getting upset when someone doesn't agree with your "story" because you weren't supported? nobody is a bra or nut cup so support is optional

I'd rather go 100,000 miles between oil changes and tire rotations than go to Walmart and have them do it.

I'll gladly show you the whole tire but I'll let you think about your statement for a minute. If the "spare" is on the truck and the picture of this tire was taken off the truck and out of rotation for the time being there would be no damage on the side wall from it rubbing while up in the spare carrier. Third all of the gauges are tool marks from sloppy work putting the tire back on the wheel. Lastly had this sidewall damage been there before swopping tires it would not be nice white petty marks they would be dirty from road debris and they should have told me if there was previous damage.

Would you like a picture of mine taken off my truck tonight? I see this every time I rotate my own tires.. and you have been asked by other member about whether or not your tires were mounted/dismounted and why since it was a rotation you claimed. From the pics I don't see white marks either...

Wake100 I'm not sure what your talking about. There should be no tool marks on a tire when it is mounted on the wheel. And if you read the post you would see that there was a mount and dismount of a tire as the spare is on a steal wheel unlike the other 4.

I got it but I think this is the disconnect that people are getting. 5-wheel rotation 2 different wheels so you have to swap the tire from the odd wheel.

    Here ya go Wake100

the tire the tool marks that you see were not from previous damage age as the white that shows would be dull like the white letters are.

again if his damage was old the rubber that got gouged would not look like fresh damage.

Obviously these marks are not the marks that the wheel carrier would leave on the side wall and surly not be damaged after being up there for 7000 miles. I know you said I should do my own work but I can't mount and balance my tires at home. Done arguing you are more than free to disagree with me though as it's your right.

How in the hell did they do that? I used to install tires and they must have been using screw drivers to pull this off. god I wish I could afford to mount and balance at home to..

So you take the one tire off the rim and have it mounted on the other wheels? kind of crap way to do it for now, but with out a matching wheel you do what you have to for now. you know the next step now

These tires are too damn expensive for that crap to
