So I built my vehicle on edmunds and the TMV was $26210 and invoice was $25888 so it looks like I cleared invoice by $738.

Loving the truck so far. Already have some mods in mind but i am going to wait until the fall. Heated leather seats and heated mirrors!

Yeah it was a great idea by Toyota to offer that package on the PreRunner. The nice practical stance of the 4X4 with none of the hassle and extra expense for those who would not use the front wheel drive.

I don;t understand why people believe everyone who buys a 2WD will be sorry they did not get the 4WD. People do have choices and know their intended use. I also don;t understand those who buy a 2WD then want a 4WD or bought one instead of the 4WD. If it cannot be afford and one needs a 4WD they can be fond used for less than a new 4WD.

A bit confused... you said you got them $1000 below invoice - you must mean below MSRP(moroni)??

Second, you said you have a copy of the actual invoice? If you have a copy, I can walk you through what some of the b.s. items are and tell pretty much what their cost is.

Third, probably too late, but NEVER talk to a salesman, call the fleet manager, ask for a copy of the invoice and decide what you're willing to pay OVER their cost (NOT down from the invoice).

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Dealers have become wise to the "under invoice" schemes. Invoice is not their true cost.

Actually, invoice is their true cost (it is highly illegal otherwise, and they can be severly fined or shut down over this issue). However, the manufacturer pads the invoice with items that they give back to the dealer (ad funds, etc).

BTW, if anyone ever has issues with a dealership (at least in California) and wants to threaten the dealership, there is no greater threat than telling them you will report them to the DMV. The DMV oversees and regulates dealerships, and it doesn't take a lot for them to come down very hard on a dealership - they can fine them huge sums.

Not good enough. Mine was sticker 26,500 and I got it for 22,500. Took 6 hours and Toyota financing, but I got it. They still got their money though from the financing. Only way they'd sell me the truck. I had Chase lined up, but they wouldn't sell if I took that route LOL

I actually got it $1150 below invoice. I also requested the invoice and saw the "official" one. I just meant I got it at that price below Edmunds "invoice" price.

I didn't pay for holdback or that fleet finance charge or whatever that is.

Also I financed with my own provider for 3.89% for 72 months (awesome rate). I chose the long term financing so I don't have a higher monthly obligation but can still pay the principle faster.

I plan on keeping the vehicle a long time so no worries of being "upside down" in my loan.

Off topic....but I had the 7 speaker audio option....and supposedly there is suppose to be 2 speakers in the ceiling.

    I don't see them!!

2 in each front door and subwoofer, thats it. Anyone know where they could be hiding or did the factory fuck up?

I have a 2011 DCSB prerunner with the OR and tow package. The window sticker on this truck was $29178, I paid 27k even and i think i got a pretty good deal on my trade-in. they gave me 14k for my 2007 pre runner ac with 65k miles on it. I don't really do much offroading and it rarely snow in this part of the country and not to metion that's flat around here too, so to me a 4x4 is not really needed for my needs. I do have a rear locker on my 2011 that i haven't even used it yet. But i'm really happy with my pre runner.

just because you like your 4wd doesn't mean everyone will. I love my 2wd and happy I got it. No need for 4wd around here, theres hardly any place to wheel.

I had a 4wd at one time and didnt use it much, kind of a novelty for me.
i got a 2wd ranger 2 years ago and loved it did most of the stuff 4wd did, just had the right tires, got stuck 3 times mudding out of 20-25 times going(not bad for 2wd).
now that i stepped up to a tacoma with a locker i am litteraly doing everything 4wd do except huge climbs wich i wouldnt attempt anyway
AND i actually PULLED OUT a 4wd that was stuck in mud :D
BTW i went through though the same exact mud 30 seconds before no problem.
locker made the huge difference for me, sure its no 4wd truck but i havnt needed it yet, and my 4wd buddies are always there to pull me out worse case scenario
    my ranting two cents :D
