^If I had to guess I'd say you probably have a very neutral foot strike. They aren't bad shoes but I just couldn't wear them at all. They didn't work for me. 700miles is quite a lot in a pair of shoes. Coach always told us to change them after 500 or so miles.

I don't know a lot about feet or shoes, but I would like to point out that a good pair of socks with a good pair of shoes goes a long ways too.
When I first started working out a long time ago to lose some weight, I noticed that I would some times get blisters. When I would run 4 or 5 miles 5x a week the bottom of my feet would also some times fell like I had rubbed sand paper there and the bottom of my feet would have a burning pain when I would walk around. After I got a bag of good socks that had some kind cushion it helped me out a lot.
But anyways like I said im not an expert and im just giving some tips I think will help you out on your workouts. :)

You should see if your area has a specialty running store where they will be able to suggest shoes for your specific feet and the way you walk. We have one called the Village Runner http://www.villagerunner.com/ I went there when I was in the police academy and recovering from an injury and they helped me a lot. Their prices were a little high so after I figured out which shoes worked best for me I bought them elsewhere.

I was fairly injury prone and didn't get much done in XC just because I was always injured. The only track season I was in shape for was freshman year believe it or not.

Sorry to hear that. Respectable times none-the-less. I was hurt through most of my highschool career and now that i'm in college I've remained healthy for the three years i've run so far. Funny how that works.

lol, I'm exactly the opposite. I was healthy and slow all of highschool but as soon as I hit TCU I started getting really, really decent and getting hurt all the freakin time. All of those times are from my freshman year during track season. College training really opened me up. I realized it when I PR'd in the two mile while running the aformentioned 5k.
