I was interested in opinions on what would cause truck to wander all over the road. It literally just about pulls the stirring wheel out of your hands when going down a bumpy road with dips in it. Any suggestions?

    ^^^ This....

OP, you really need to lift the front of the truck off the ground and check all the normal front end suspension and mounting. Plenty of youtube videos covering this. Looking for wheel play (left/right wiggle, 12 oclock and 6 oclock wiggle, take a pry bar and see what front end bushings move too much, etc).

If it's bad enough to jerk the wheel out of your hand, then the problem (shot ball joint or something) should be fairly visually obvious.
