    My dad had the same model, year, and colour of truck. He junked it in 2011.. I should have bought it off him.

    Parts are cheap and they make for awesome wheelers. Get one in good condition and it's even more win! :)

    Yea, his was pretty fucked. He never really took care of it.. 4wd was done, had a cracked head at 100k.. etc. They are tanks though, my uncle got a 98 as a bush truck at my cottage, and we took it on ATV trails. I still find parts of it laying along the paths when Im out on my quad.

    LOL nice. Well the good part is that the i6 engine has been around since essentially the 40s, and the AW4 auto tranny is super solid as well. That was the big seller for me :eek:

    Exactly. Plus SFA from factory, even if it is a D30....makes for an easy swap though if I ever wannted to go up to a D44

    that's what i figured. those pictures at the bottom helps sell me on it. the other thing, is the ZJ tie rod,the TRE are built into it, which means if I snap a joint or break it,I can't do a trail swap to get me home and I'd have to shell out another $130 on a whole new ZJ tie rod..so by ordering new TRE too from the company, that allows me to use my current, old ones (assuming they come out in one piece) as trail spares :eek:

    beats the hell out of the dana 35. and no sense in swapping in a ford 8.8 or 9 when I'm only running 31s...i'm DD'ing this thing still..

    Yes but both suck. 9'' is over kill on a DD but the 8.8 is great for DD hell most V6 rangers SOA will bolt right up just the shock mounts have to be changed. The Explorer 8.8 is even better with a 31 spline and LSD 3.73 LSD, 3.73 open, 4.10 open and rare LSD

    yup. we're running one in the rear of the ranger. dana 44 up front. chromo axle shafts. locked front and rear. manual hubs. etc. etc.


    just unnecessary for my current situation. if and whenever i break either axle, dana 44 up front and either ford 8.8 or 9 in the rear :cool:

    nope. they run factory ends. i didn't like their brand. so when it comes in, I'll inspect my ends that are currently on there. I'd rather get MOOG TRE at my local o'reilys if they need replacement as opposed to their McQuay Norris Brand ends. (i can swap the tie rod w/out replacing the ends if I want...) I already know for a fact that I need to replace my TRE from my pitman arm to tmy draglink...ripped the boot a while back :eek:


    Shipping is a bish on a 15lb tie rod, I mus say...
