A guy around here did something similar with a brand new 4-runner several years ago that I guess must have had a lot of issues. He had some sort of big fight with the dealership over it so he also put large vinyl lettering on it saying negative things about the dealer too. The local paper ran a story on it and soon after that Toyota took it back from him.

Well, there was a guy back in Jackson, MS that did the same thing with an old T100 in 1998. It was in the Clarion Ledger within a week of him driving it around.

As for my Ranger, it was an 89 4x2 with the V6. I should say with 4 different V6's. They could tell what was going on, but they kept having to put new engine in it after the original one either: threw a piston, blew a head up, or seized completely.

Ford bought it back from us since it was under warranty (kinda like CPO program). Then again, it might also have something to do with the fact we were suing them...

Ford's V6's have always been pretty crappy. Less power and more problems than the others. Some of the newer ones may be OK but the old 2.9 and 3.8s were pretty bad.

I have a '91 Ranger (although I have named it the Anger) with a 4L V6. I thought that engine was pretty good. It did the job for that little truck. Anybody want to buy it??

I totally respect people who take on big business in any manner possible. We need more consumers like this. He must be a flaming, no BS type-A personality. I wonder how much he got back from Toyota and under what conditions.

In 1999, I threatened similar action on my Dodge dealer. They didn't even flinch and quickly fixed my problem free of charge.

Cheers to all the fighters out there. Eat :hungry: Steak!
