One of the best tires for good mpg, quiet and last forever. 265/75r16 would give you an inch taller tire without any drama. Still plenty of tire for mild to moderate 4x4 action.

Get the 17” TRD pro wheels (or 4Runner TRD OR take offs). Lots more tread and size options compared to 16” wheels. For example, Maxxis makes their 17” AT tire in a SL load (plenty strong for where you want to take your truck) at 39 lbs compared to the 16” only offered in E load at 51 pounds. KO2s also come in a C load in 17”. I’ve had a ton of AT, MT and all season tires and tire weight makes the biggest difference on MPG

Most speedo readings are 2-3mph below actual. When I went from the 265/70/16 to a 265/75/16 it actually made the speedo reading more accurate. This was on a 2nd gen. Even the one inch difference in height I did notice the difference it made to the overall gearing. Nothing that was enough to justify a gear change. On your 3rd gen I don't know if you will notice it but you may. The difference for me was on slight inclines at around 40-45mph it now felt better to shift from 5th down to 4th if I did not want to give it more gas.

Here's the Falken MTs in 255/85 r16. 33" tire w/o modding (you may rub the front mud flaps).

It seems this conversation my be mute as it doesn't look like can get a 16" TRD rim that will fit a 2022. The only difference on the couple places I'm finding the 16" TRD rim, and the factory rim on my 2022, is the offset. My factory, 25MM offset. The 16" TRD's I can find, 13MM offset. One of the places I found them is a Toyota dealer parts center and it says. "doesn't fit the 2022. Yet Extreme Terrain sells a rim identical to the TRD PRO in 16" with a 13MM offset that says it fits 2022's. WTF? Really want to stick with the 16" as I don't want to get tires just yet. I want to get some more miles out of my factory tires. I really want the TRO PRO wheels but this is getting too complicated. For me, anyway. :(

    DO NOT PICK THE DURATRACS!!!!!

They are the most aggressive, kickass A/T tire. So ya, they get loud!

Love 'em in a 265/75/16, but can't wait to go taller.

I believe the new trd pro rims that come on the 2022 4Runner don’t fit because Tacoma has drum brakes and 4R has disks.

But you could still get the OG pro/sema wheels that will fit your truck. 16” comes in a glossy black and 17” in matte black. I have the 17” and love it, a lot more tire options.

Get some 285/75r16. Best tire for stock ride height imo

Yes I had them, they are loud and vibrate a bit when driving. I would say that’s a hybrid tire. But, they just ate snow like there is no tomorrow.

    How is it the best?

Gotta chop your cab mounts, trim fenders, or buy new UCA to move caster forward.

You don't have to lol. CMC are unnecessary for 33s. I've had mine on for 15k miles. Only rub on the UCA when steering fully maxed out. And no, you don't need a new UCA. My tire shop has no probably with alignment

Haha yeah it's a little tight by the UCA but that's it. I have never rubbed my cab mount
