you know what you could do, instead of the trd stupercharger get the udr becase instead of 304 hp you can go up to like i think its 420 with their upgraded pully system.

also if you go with the trd you will only pay about 4300 trdparts4u.com instal and everything

does anybody know if the udr is CARB legal stupid california smog crap

Not really. The most I have paid for front and rear was $1150.00. Not "Cheap", but the best result for the money.

You still need fuel mods when running No2. Done right, its not really the cheapest.

They are not, "Free Hp". The turbo is a restriction in the exhaust system. The turbo systems I have messed with in the past, have had similar parasitic drag as moderen SC set ups.

Could you explain this figure with a bit more detail? What all parts are required? I'm fine with dropping $1200, but I need to learn more about it before going into this further.

Gears with install kit are useually about $300.00. X2 (front and rear if 4x4), then labor is around $250.00 (X2 front and rear if 4x4)

    k, thanks for the info.

Is the install so in depth that I could not perform it on my own? I despise taking my vehicle in to have work completed. I'll have to figure out what special tools (if any) are required to perform the job. I'd gladly spend a day of my time to do it for free if possible... but $600 for regearing is well worth it if my truck doesn't have to work as hard going over the mountains.

Re-gearing will be the best option for you! I put 285's on my old taco and I re-geared to 4.56 and it brought me right back to stock. I was able to use the cruise control again with out it jumping down a gear. I also had a cold air intake, throttle body spacer and flow master exhaust. With the new gears the truck has a sweet passing gear and really handles the hills quit nicely. If you have a 4x4 you will have to do the front and back diffs, and it will get pricey but not as mush as a supercharger. I spent 500 for the rear gears. If you do it right it should cost you about 1100 for the gears. 08pretaco is right you should really put a locker on too. You will not be disappointed!

Very cool... thanks for the info!

I'll probably pass on the locker. I really don't offroad a ton with the Tacoma... maybe 10-15% of the time. I don't think I've ever even used my locker offroad... just periodically to keep it lubricated.
