    You should contact downsouthmotorsports.com they have fox and king coilovers kits as well as 5100's best prices in town,best thing is there here in san diego!

    i just called they told me $1720 for that exact setup for 3inches w/o rear leafs idk man that seems expensive haha is it?

    This is what I got with the 5100s. I like the fact that they're adjustable. So if I put heavy ass bumper on, I can just crank it back up! :)

    With that said, I think the OMEs have methods for adjusting the height, just not like this...

    Not by themselves, but Chris4x4 said you can get some "shims" or something to load the springs more... Same concept as the adjustable ones from ToyTec, just not done the same way.

    True, but don't you have to remove the whole assembly just to insert the shim? Whereas the 5100s and the kit above you can adjust it with the assembly still on the truck though, not the same concept in my book.

    Or any other shock you'd like, but with the 5100s you would need to set them at the lowest setting IIRC.

    Yeah, you have to compress the springs to get them in. Don't get me wrong - for adjustables, I still like the ones I have... Just trying to point out that the OMEs "can" be adjusted.

    On a side note, have you ever tried to adjust the adjustable coilovers while they were installed on the truck? it's practically impossible! I had to adjust mine a couple of times and I had to take them off to do it. But didn't have to compress the springs though... :)

    Yeah - any would work, but these coils are designed for the 5100s.

    I haven't, from what I've heard you just need to take the tire off, loosen the little nut that holds the collar in place and use the spanner wrench to adjust it.

    I think that's how it's supposed to work, but practically speaking, I couldn't make it budge AT ALL!

    Essentially, when you turn it, the shock spins with the collar. But when the shock is bolted to the lower control arm, it can't turn, making the collar infinitely harder to turn because of the immense amount or pressure from the springs.

    so my truck came with the bilstein gas somthing shock absorbers and i could use those with the toytecs just fine but the 5100s is what its designed for

    Will not work with factory shocks on the 03-09 4-Runner or 05-09 Tacoma.

    If you go up 3", yes, they are necessary to correct alignment issues. You can't adjust the stock UCAs far enough to account for the new suspension geometry.
