Want OME coil springs, but already have Bilstein 4600 shocks

    5100's have always been adjustable. That's the 5100's defining characteristic.

    A lot of people go with the stock coils to save some money. I did. Ideally, you'd get a longer spring, then make sure you set the 5100s at the "stock" height setting (let the spring do the lifting), but to save some cash, a lot of people keep the stock spring and set the 5100s higher (increasing the pre-load) to lift it.

    Collapsed diff: 0.16" (~3/16"), Extended Diff: 0.24" (~1/4"), total diff in run 0.40" (~7/16")

    JBrandt, Not much of a difference in the shocks. I am going to try the 4600's, if any sign of problem will go out and get the 5100s and install them. This truck is my toy, not the daily driver, so not stuck.

    Should start a thread just on the truck. Bought with 193K miles, cleaned up, changed gear oils, sea foamed engine, going to clean MAF and throttle body this weekend, doing suspension, plan on pulling frame, sand blasting, powder coating, than filling with automotive foam, ...
