I get lost looking on line at tires. I have read alot of post but I am still lost. I don't do off road. Lifted truck is for stance look only. I have bought some Tacoma 17" take off wheels and want to go with I think a highway tread around 33" tall. I don't want any balancing issues or them wearing out too soon. Opinions are welcome, I'm old so I have thick skin. Thanks

Ok, I’ll just say it, why would you ever put a 4 inch lift on an on road truck? And if you’re going to stick with the 4 inch lift and never go off road, just go all the way and put some at tires on it. iMO a 4 inch lift with highway tires is going to look foolish.

I’m getting old too and do whatever I want without much regard to what others think. I don’t have any lift but I put some Continental terrain contact AT tires on and am happy as hell with the quiet smooth ride. I like to go camping in the woods away from other people and that usually requires driving down some fireroads etc after several hours of driving on the highway. I searched for AT tires that were tilted toward highway performance. Haven’t been out in the woods yet with these tires but I think they will do just fine. I dragged my trailer into some pretty remote locations using Michelin at2 tires also and never got stuck but I do have 4wd. My only complaint with the Michelins was early sidewall rot. Those big aggressive tires are for mud and other extreme terrain. They look “cool” but the trade off is noise, short tread life and bad highway performance. Check out the pizza cutter threads. Those guys are mounting tall narrow tires to fill the empty space in the wheel wells you get when lifted but still get decent mpg if that’s what you’re trying to do.

Up till this truck I have had Toyota 4x4. I was gonna sell this truck and buy a new truck after having it so long . I don't like payments so coming off that wad of cash made me think about it. Nothing wrong with my truck I am just tired of it. Soooo instead of spending $25K and my truck, I am gonna piss away maybe $5K and trick my ole azz brain into liking a different set up. Put another 100k miles on it and if I am still vertical sell it. And I am doing it cause I am an ole cranky fart in my mid 60's and I can and want to. If everybody liked the same thing life would be so boring. And it pisses my wife off. :angrygirl:She won't ride in it and won't be able to get in it if she wanted too.:D

I was considering the Falkens too , but the other 2 brands had more reviews on here so I was trying to narrow it down some. Just didn't want to end up with some loud unbalanced turd on my truck. I haven't bought any yet but have been leaning towards LT285/75-17 COOPER DISCOVERER AT3 75R R17 they are not the cheapest but not the most expensive either.

P is passenger rated. It’s what comes from the factory on our trucks.

Ok. While I confer with Kingston, try some Michellens.
