want to buy a tap and die set. metric or sae?

    Weathertech front floor liners, window vent visors. Custom bedside decals. OEM bed mat, tonneau covrew. Added D rings to bed.
    I want to buy a tap and die set in case I may need it on the truck. I plan on tapping a optimus prime head for a shift knob.
    Do i want a metric set or a sae set?
    I have an 05 auto.

    METRIC for sure. But there are some sets out there that offer both, but to keep the price down, stick with a metric size.

    Metrinch fits both metric AND SAE. Have had a 62 piece set for years, and they work great. They come in a handy case that can store behind the seat. Used them on the truck and motorcycles both. A little bit pricey for some.

    but when you are in a bind and you have it. It is worth every penny especially when it is your vechicle and trying to install a new part.
