Hey everyone looking to fix ride in the rear end of my 2000 Toyota tacoma pre. Have 2” blocks with oem shocks. Wanting to know if the correct way to fix the ride. After research i was planning on a 1.5” add a leaf w/ B8- 5100. Is there a better set up or anything i should add its my daily driver.

    AAL will stiffen the ride
    Shocks will cushion the bumps

First off, its a truck. By nature the ride will be a bit stiff in the rear. It won't ride like a 70's land yacht.

The truck will likely have an "improved" ride when it is loaded to about 1/2 capacity with weight. The springs support the truck.

Once upon a life ago, I had a GMC 2500HD. It had a fairly "hard" ride when unloaded, but put 3800 lbs of landscape rock in the bed it would ride like a 70's land yacht.

Shocks only control the "bounce" of the truck, no support.

I'd suggest to not add any springs. You could change the shocks for a different damping rate.
