Plastic dip badges. Upgraded head unit, husky floor liners, BFG ko2 tires.
Hello tocoma world. Just bought a 2009 toyota tocoma 4x4 SR5 edition with v6. Being that this is my first truck ever I can tell you I love it! So far to date I have upgraded the stock head unit and speakers , and also plastic dipped my bandages. My question I pose is this. I would like to add a lift to my truck and make it more offroad compatable. I have not been offroading much, but would like to get into it. The most I would be doing offroading is running fire trails, beach driving, and going to the pines. I do not need a rock crawler but just want to run a 33 " tire at most, with a good quality ride. I have been looking at old man emu lifts, and I also got a price on a rough country lift. Not sure if any members prefer one lift over another . I would also have to take into account install. I do not feel comfortable trying this myself at home. My range is under a grand if I can. Just want to modify a little bit. But after being on this site for quit a while that might go out the window!

Thank you for your time and I hope I posted this in the correct area. Never posted before!

    Matt

OME 887 lift, 16" XD addicts, 285 duratracs, leather seats, badass JL/Focal stereo
Get the OME/bilstein kit from Headstrong Off-road, it's right around $600 and they are great to work with. If you have a double cab probably go with OME 887 (for just under 3") or 885 (for about 2.5"). For access or single cab get the 884 or 883. This would be the best option for 33" tires without sacrificing ride. That kit will put you right around $650 shipped, I think. I bought that kit with the 887s and had it installed at a Toyota dealership for $475 (absolutely love it!). Should be able to find a cheaper install than that, I just did it because they gave me a good deal on wheels and tires. I have 33" duratracs, they fit but you will have to trim a bit off the bumper and possibly the inner fenders. 31-32s shouldn't require trimming at all.

    This is the kit...

Upper control arms are recommended, but not required. I do not have them now but plan to get them in the future. If I were you, I would do it all together, but you do not have to. There is a lot of info on this forum, look around for pics and info to make sure you are sure!

If you do not want OME which is a good setup there is also the bilstein 5100 lift and Mid travel if you have the budget for it.
