265/70/17 BFG RT's, FJ 17" rims with 1.25" spidertraxx Debadged, HID's, URD short shifter, Bilstein 5100's in the front, TSB and 1" block rear, URD TCAI with maf calibrator, JBL long tubes, DT Y pipe, Gibson exhaust, Walbro 255 fuel pump, Pioneer stereo, Bak flip G2 tonneau, TRD skid plate, MB Quarts all around with dynomat, Viper Alarm with motion sensor
Still trying to decide on my next tire size choice. It's between 265's or 275's. It's going to be Hankook Dynapro Atm's and I currently have Spidertraxx 1.25" wheel spacers and billies see at 2.5 height. I know for the 285's a wheel spacers is recommended to not rub but I believe if I choose to run the 275's, I will have to remove my Spidertraxx wheel spacers.

This is my current setup with 265/70/17's on a highway tire with the Spidertraxx wheel spacers and my billies set at 2.5 height.

So what size is better for street performance? I put a lot of performance parts on my truck and hardly take it off-roading. I like to think of it as a sleeper because I took off all my emblems. I have Spidertraxx 1.25 wheel spacers.

Also, why is it to go 285 with a 2.5" lift, wheel spacers are required to not rub UCA or cab mount but to go with 275, it is recommended that I remove my wheel spacers?

285's will hit the UCA without spacers , but do require trimming and possibly the cab mount chop

275's don 't hit the UCA and adding spacers increases the risk of requiring trimming and possibly the cab mount chop

And your preference would be to get rid of spacers and go 275's?

Depends on what you want your look to be and also your tire choice as 275/70/17 doesn't have as many tire choices 285/70/17

I'm definitely not going 285 and am leaning towards 275 but not totally convinced. I like the wide look but looks like the 275's could possibly achieve that look without spacers. I would like to keep my mud flaps on and avoid the cab mount chop.
I'm positive of going Hankook Dynapro ATM though.

I think my prior BFG All-Terrain's were E rated.

They only come E rated in that size. I have yet to find any tire in a 275/70 that isn't E rated.

I run the BFG's and don't like them. I'd like a lighter C rated duratrac in this size..

I have 1.25" spidertrax that I haven't put on yet. I was thinking of going to a 265/70 and throwing them on...

I'm thinking about doing the same. Duratac's at 265/70/17 and run my Spidertraxx. Are they lighter than the Hankooks?

There are a lot more options in the 265/70 size when it comes to load range. The hankooks only come in an E in the 275/70 but I'm not sure the weight on them. I'm sure they are comparable to the BFG's but I've been unable to find the specs. Any tire the same size, same load range and similar style, should be close in weight.

My BFG's are heavy... 58lbs/ea I believe. which is about 11lbs heavier than the 265/70 duratracs

Now I might just stay a street tire, especially if it saves on gas and I kinda like the feel I have with my truck right now, it feels like a regear.

Maybe , you have a better chance of not rubbing with them than 265/70/17 and spacers
