...but I would like to keep the stock speaker sizes and locations in my 2003 Xcab. I don't mind a double DIN head unit and will probably get one for the navigation. What are the speakers sizes I'll need to get if I replace my stock speakers but keep the original look?

Any suggestions on high quality/high value speakers for my application?

    Thanks.

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
Stock is 5x7's but I prefer round speakers > oval so 6.5" will fit.

Stock speakers are round. They're 6.5"

    Look around on www.crutchfield.com

Asking for a general recommendation on speakers is asking a little much. Depending on budget, style of music, volume it's played at, sound deadening, and a number of other variables you could get a hundred different systems.

    It's really up to you.

Your stereo build only goes as far as your budget as Mr. Biscuits said. Some people want to spend less than 500$. Some people will spend thousands. All about how deep your pockets go and what type of sound you really want.

If you ask me I'd say plan for $1000 for a "decent" setup. (sub/deck/wires/speakers/amps,etc)..

If you can do the install you can save a bit of cash that way.

On a 2000 model they may be round 6.5's. but on a 01-04 they are 5x7 or 6x8, they both use the same mounting holes.

Thanks - no subs for me - just replace the speakers and put in a decent aftermarket HU for maybe $100. After 50 years of guns and chainsaws that's all the sound I can use anyway.
