I 've seen that spec sheet. BUT.... the torque is not there, I would love to see a v6 tacoma towing a 6k trailer on 8% grade.

I tow this and it feels like it is not even there:

I tow this and I totally notice that it's there, especially on inclines.

Nice boat! Different Tacoma's have different towing capacities. The OP say's he needed to tow (I'll be using the boat to tow a 195 TXW Bass Tracker, weighs ~3,000lbs fully loaded out.)
I tow that so I recommended my model truck. TRD OR 4x4 with a towing package.

FWIW, I have a 2012 with a stock secondary air pump that hasn't been an issue along with many others on the forum. Personally, it is no reason to avoid a 2012 you just need to be aware that it is a potential item to address.

As far as completely problem free, that would make a '12 not problem free....even though it really isn't a big deal.

I'd be far more concerned with frame rust than the secondary air pump.

Well ya if your looking at anything between 05-09.
Find me a Tacoma with a frame rust issue past 2010.

thx, i dont think there is any difference between the 4.0 sport and or w/factory towing. Either would be fine as you dont need a locker on the launch ramp.

    That's the one.

I must have missed the post by the OP that said he was looking for a 2011 or newer.

Not sure a 2009-2010 with a rusted out frame is better than a 2012, that's all I was getting at. The secondary air pump can be addressed easily.....a frame with holes rusted through it not so much.
