i just put a toggle switch in one of those bed cubbies...

    it was super easy..

I didnt wire it so the bed would turn it on, because I like to be able to turn it on with the tailgate up or down and I like that it doesn't turn on every time I open my tailgate just because I normally am using my tail gate during the day...

    think about this.

I have mine wired so I can turn them on in the bed and off in the cab - or on in the cab and off in the bed - or on/off in the cab - or on/off in the bed.

It's a great set up because I can turn them on before I step out of the cab. Grab my snowboard, hit the bed switch to turn them off and go.

I would not want the pin switch because I would not want them always coming on.

I also used LED light strips from eBay. They were cheap and hide easily under the rails. You could not even tell I had them until I turned the lights on.

    Very happy with my setup.

and a short video of how the operate:

hey veccster! how did you wire your bed lights up? i think i like you way better with a way to turn them off and on from either in the bed or the cab.you can't even see that switch in the bed.i need to know step by step were you ran your wires to.if you don't mind.i'am not very good with the electrical stuff.
