My wife likes to leave her purse in the truck when we go into a restaurant. With her fob in the purse the truck can't be locked, or so far I haven't figured out how. Any thoughts?

If you have your key in your pocket and your wife's in the truck, you can't use the touch part on the handle to lock it. It'll just beep at you nice and loudly. But if you use your remote and press the lock button on it, it will actually lock. At least I haven't found a way to make the touch part on the handle work yet with the spare key in the truck.

Make her bring in the purse and have her pay.

    It's a win win.

Not sure there even is a "fix" for that, but I would leave it alone. There have already been a couple of times that I would have accidentally locked my fob in the truck if the sensor didn't prevent it. Pretty nice feature in my opinion.

If it's a problem put it in a faraday bag.

You could lock it manually using the key inside the fob

Sounds like you're trying a hardware fix for what should be a software fix if you know what I mean...

My wife has a key to mine :duel:. If my wife wants to jump in and drive it I'm cool with that. I've got a key to her rav as well.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
Maybe because she is his wife and he treats her accordingly. In other words he treats her with respect --not as his "slave". I wish my wife would want to drive mine more --she must be more attached to "our" Subaru Outback. It seems like some men only want the fact of "joint property" to come into play is when it is to their benefit!

No hate here, I have wondered this as well. Thanks for asking the questions, looks like we now have an answer:thumbsup:

My wife has a key to my truck and I will have a key to her 4R. She liked driving my truck which is what made her want a 4R in the first place:cool:

    I am there with you.

OP ... no disrepect to you or anyone else. For clairity on the "joint" property issue. Yes the wife and I both jointly own all of our property. We do however make distinctions like "her chair", "My truck", "Her computer", "My tools" etc... I think almost every couple has these distinctions His _____ Her_____ .

My truck came with 2 fobs. One lives in my pocket, the other stays in the house until needed. Should my wife ever need or want to move my truck she getrs the "spare" key (the on that stays in the house) and does what she needs to.

The same is true for the wife's car. She carries the key in her purse while the spare stays in the house. If I need or want to drive her care I use the spare.

Both of these senarios work becasue:
    A) both the truck and her car do not want or allow the key to be locked inside.
    B) we generally start driving either vehicle at home to get to where we ae going. :D
    C) When in her car the spare is at home and the same is true when we are in the truck doors all lock and unlock as we want them to no conflicts.

Easy answer, if the wife does not normally drive your truck and/or you are going to dinner why would there be a key to your truck in her purse? And/or if she does not want her purse with her, why did she bring it? :notsure:

After all, I have keys to sheds, hitches, various padlocks, not to mention about 25 different door keys at work. However I carry only 5 (ok 6 counting the truck's fob) on my keychain everyday. All the other keys are within easy access after using any one of the keys in my pocket. As a bonus, the keys in my pocket are not so heavy that I need a beltclip to hold them or additional help in holding up my pants.
