Yea I plan on taking a few trips there to explore the Denver suburbs since it is a huge area. I also plan to pretend I live there and try driving during rush hours and on the routes I would have to use to go to work. Even little stuff like seeing how the local crowd seems to be and how easy it is to make friends. I don't want to move 2500 miles away and then regret it and get homesick

Denver is a popular city for young people. A lot of cities - particularly in the midwest, but others too - are hard to "break into" because everyone who lives there is from there. Not Denver. A lot of people want to be close to the mountains so you won't feel like the new guy long.

Yea this is one of my concerns too. But from what they just said, it sounda like a good place to start fresh. Plus you always have the people on here you can hang out with. I think last time I Google mapped it it was 13+ hr drive for me so I guess if I get too home sick I can make it back in a day to see my family, but I think that plenty far enough away to start new ! Now if I can only find a job, so far not so good

Just don't get carried away and move all the way west to Cali. People are nuts, and everything is expensive. Andrew H mentioned Arizona-sounds pretty good right about now:goingcrazy::goingcrazy::goingcrazy:

I've lived all over the state.

Just a heads up, Colorado springs is like the opposite of the rest of the state as far as the people and their attitudes go. Its an evangelistic hot spot and it shows, as well as having military bases and the Academy there, it sorta makes it an entirely different attitude there.

Another thing that most people don't realize, Colo springs, Denver, Ft. Collins, Boulder.. they aren't in the mountains at all. And as you move toward the west you hit the high desert, so its a pretty diverse place.

It is expensive depending on where you live, but theres some great small towns there that are still relatively cheap, and if you are into hunting as I think your first post said.. thats where you probably would want to ideally be.

Cost of of living out here is Not that bad. Its way worse in other states. I have lived in the springs northern Colorado and now Denver. If I want to be the mountains its a 15min drive west and down town is a 15 min drive south.

Renting I havent done in a while but I have a 2100 sq foot house that we paid 175k for in a nice area just north of down town Denver. Are you looking at living down town or in one of the many suburbs? That will determine how much you pay. How much are.you looking to spend would make it easier to tell you where to look.

Premium is $3.96 but I hear it is going down.

1 bedroom apartments will go from $500.00 to over $1k depending on where you want to live.

If you want to live in Westminster north of Denver I have a friend who has a house that he rents rooms out to people. If you need a hook up when the time comes PM me.

Also you can look through the Denver Craig's List just to get an idea on rents. I myself haven't rented since the 90's so but we have a 3300sqft house on a big lot in Littleton that we bought for under $300k if that gives you any bearing to where you live.

Thanks guys, definitely don't want to live downtown, and i don't mind a little bit of a commute every morning to work. right now i pay 550 for a 1 bedroom so keeping it around that would be great but im sure a little more wouldn't hurt me any.

You can get great apartments in CO for not very much at all. A lot of CO is newer developments and stuff too so it's nice, not crappy stuff. Just whatever you do don't move to Greeley lol.

Fort Collins is a great place and you can live in a small town outside of there too and not have to commute very far at all. Loveland and Windsor are very close. Its a college town too so...go figure :yay:

I'm sure the other CO guys can chime in here and agree but CO has some very very very beautiful women too!

I would say your basic 1 bed room is going to run from 650 to 750 just depends on what part of town also you have to look at that you prob will make a little more so your 550 less pay would be about the same as 650 more pay
