30 degrees this morning. Seems like a good time to bolt on the sliders.

Slider install is pretty straight forward, and the Warfab site has good instructions...so I’m told.

But I’m a man with beer so I don’t need instructions.

Here’s just a couple take always, and pics (if you’re a struggling instruction reader like I am), that you will ignore because you’re probably a man with beer.

This is on a ‘19 Tacoma.
    E8B5B32C-0931-48EA-BDB6-2E05C0FAA1CC.jpg
There’s this stupid black box in the way on the passenger side. I was totally going to rip it off and throw it away, but Brian went out of his way to make instructions so I figured I’d try to follow them. But I drank a beer and after I read something about this box I totally forgot and stopped caring. Anyway you’ll need a 10mm for this hunk of crap. And shut up about those gloves. Yeah, those are women’s gloves. I can wear whatever gloves I want.

    1A955AEA-114D-4B15-91E1-41B3DDB382DD.jpg
And there’s two more dumb bolts underneath that black crapping cover. I don’t remember if these bolts are 12mm or 14mm. It was cold and 8am and I was a couple six packs in.

    9B19B02C-2945-4610-ABFA-583B3F4155C3.jpg
Anyway once the slider goes on you will realize you forgot about this piece of crap bracket and will totally have to lower the sliders again to get this damn bracket over the sliders. (There’s also another dumbass bracket on the driver side that you will forget about and cover with the slider again causing a serious irate cussing storm, because you’ll be drunk by the time you get to the driver side. If you’re not drunk, you’re doing it wrong.)

Where was I? Slide this stupid thing over because the gusset is in the way. Use one bolt to hold it in place. Stick the other bolt back into the empty hole for storage.

    2964F1E2-C2BF-4318-88DD-82282882D4D3.jpg
Here’s another obvious thing I screwed up. So be smarter than me. Slide this bolt up to tighten it and clear that piece of crap whatever the hell it is that’s sitting inside the frame.

    FF3FC78A-5687-42A8-94FA-A2D989608565.jpg
Continuing on, the dumb 14mm frame bolt that holds the carrier bearing cross member was mangled on the divers side. Now, I should have just loosened the passenger side from the start, because I felt the ominous dread in the cold ass air, and I just ran out of breakfast beer. But I didn’t. I backed that bolt out to discover that some air gun jockey drove that bolt in with a fervor of angry emotion toward his wife who just left him and took his best garden hose. So of course that factory bolt was trash. I then had to procure another bolt and decifer thread pitch. Now shut up, shut up right now! I don’t want to hear a damn thing about the “Search Bar” and you can go to hell for thinking it. Whatever, the bolt, after much chagrin turned out to be a 14mm M10-1.25x25. You don’t want to know the depths of depravity I had to go to find out the pitch of some threads. I still can’t get the taste out of my mouth. Where’s my beer? I need a beer. Don’t judge me. You know you got issues too. So I totally replaced that bastard bolt with a 17mm M10-1.25x30 bolt and washer to make up for the addition of the slider. I’m sure I’m wrong for doing this. Some purist will probably hate on me for not recutting my threads. Eat balls whoever you are. I don’t give a

    E08FD4BB-996D-42B8-8CDB-DE5FF28DD2F9.jpg
Ok, so I was just about finished when I went to pop in the fuel lines and of course I screwed it up. I had to loosen everything and slide the slider forward to clear enough room to pop in this and two other buttlicking clips. And yeah that bracket there above that red circle, well you know already, that I screwed that up as well and put the slider on the first time over it. Even though I made a mental note to not aggravate myself with the same mistake I made on the passenger side. So don’t make that same mental mistake. Okay? Thanks.

Lastly, and this is no joke, pay close attention to the bolts and the fuel lines. I didn’t take a picture because I wanted to die at this point. Make sure to turn/clock the head of the bolts to clear the lines.

I just realized this post is unnecessarily wordy, and drawn-out, and it completely defeats the purpose of helping those with reading issues. So I failed again.
    8EFF8503-14E0-46FE-8FC8-C49646F491F2.jpg
Now you all know how to make this job super easy by not repeating my egregious mistakes. If you’re on the fence about getting these sliders, don’t be. The sliders are sick. And if I can get them mounted in 30 degree temps with too much beer, and incompetence... you have no excuse.

Yeah we tried to talk about them in the video too, those are definitely the dumb spots for sure. Us older frame guys don't have all that nonsense so its a little easier. Glad you liked the sliders, look goo on there.

If I had a dedicated day to just pull off factory stuff, test fit the 3g stuff against it and do measurements to make adjustments, I could get going on it and just fine tune with test fits when parts came off laser. Like I said before, if I get a 2g to come through for me, and they want part(s) we make I would make it worth their time for sure.

Just buzz me as we get closer. No point in making plans now as so much changes day to day.
Also I'll post up if I get anyone here in the mean time that we can go off.

No, just a few hours/day of rest fits and measurements then once all the demo stuff is done, install and see if anything needs fine tuned.

Went and did a trail cleanup with local BLM and MFFW group on Poison Spider. We knocked out blocking off a lot of off trail sections, cleaning up a ton of waste, both trash and human - (seriously people, pack that shit out, literally, no need to leave it there for someone else)
Snagged a shot of the group (minus two that took off for another small repair) and practiced with the drone a bit on the way out. Eventually YouTube will process these enough and they will show up in HD.
