So, I have about a 24 year fascination with what I consider to be one of the most broadly underrated Sci-fi fantasy worlds ever imagined. We're talking about 40k lore mostly in here. I'd rather avoid tabletop rules talk here because the new canon has filled in a lot of holes and allowed us to learn more about the history of the emperor. The new races and timelines are very interesting and I'd like to start of with a bold claim to get the ball rolling:

Alpharius and Omegon are not traitors. Omegon is still alive and the rest of the primarchs went into the maelstrom based on information from him.
@Sasquatch3153 I'll try and post the other parts of our convo to start :)

Intentional fuckery by GW to upset nerds like me. However, I think that there will be stories about them after the Primaris stuff slows down.

God that threw me for a loop. You mean to tell me you had tens of thousands marines and advanced weaponry at the ready and NOW you decide to unleash them?! Cadia could possibly be still standing :annoyed:

No, it was definitely intentional NOT to bring the Primaris Marines to Cadia. The planet had already succumbed to chaos once, and eventually again causing the corruption of a tooooon of Astartes. How many astartes does it take to keep a Blackstone Fortress from crashing into a planet? I bet more than 10,000 and Belasarius knew that. Cadia was likely a foregone conclusion and Cawl was just trying a last ditch effort to burn the one bridge through the warp from the Eye of Terror.

I'm certain that Cawl and Trayzn we focused on the pylons because they knew that Abaddon would destroy the planet (which he almost did) rather than have the Cadian Gate closed to him. The Cadians were doomed from the beginning. I assume that Caliban was in a similar corrupted situation, however it may have been much more manageable because a primarch lived there. Look at what happened when he left the planet and garrison to be taken care of by Luther lol.

But with all those "rumors" about the DA chapter, who knows how far things have come since then.

I can imagine Cawl saying, "Well, it's not impossible and there is much to be learned. We must do this."

Everybody around him just rolls their eyes in binary.

Commissar Ciaphas Cain. His books are pretty humorous in their own way. He's billed by mankind as one of the greatest heroes of the Imperium but he was basically a high charisma and dexterity character that is the "how do I get out of this alive" guy.

I'm a 30k guy. About 6 books into the heresy series. I like reading about the Mechanicum and Titans. Have a couple 30k and 40k squads. Big time Inquisitor Martyr player. And yes, even more than talking to a Freemason, no one knows what Warhammer is. (or they know so much you'd wish you didn't say anything lol) Lupercal! Also, the Dragon of Mars is still there and alive, at least in 30k. Just sleeping away.

I used to play a lot. I played Tau, Orks, and Imperial Fists. So I never had a winning army lol. I still have a ton of minis that I will paint every so often, but I have lost interest in the game to be honest.

Now the lore... There's where I'm hooked. From the beginning, they left these big empty spaces in the story, like the 30k stuff, that were obviously full of interesting things and it just took time to fill in. I know this is kind of lazy worldbuilding, but in this case, it works well.

The dragon is a perfect example. It's allowed to be alive in 30k and dead in 40k and still have new content created that doesn't entirely disrupt the continuity of the world. I'm interested in 50k if it ever happens. It would be interesting to see the narrative focus shift toward Xenos races in that time.
