Just finished A Thousand Sons. Good read by Graham McNeill.

It sure as heck is. I like most of Graham's books.

    Also, Magnus did nothing wrong.

Now read Prospero Burns to find out why the SW were involved and you'll realize that Magnus just did... something.

I can mail you my extra copy if I can find it.

I take back the nice things I said about GW. It's all true. They hate their own fan base so much that they pay people never to make cool stuff again.

In addition to that, @Sasquatch3153 how do you feel about the theory that claims the Warhammer Fantasy setting is actually a planet in the eye of terror?

Whoa there's a theory about that? That honestly would make sense in a way

Yeah. I don't know a ton about the theory but it's been around for a while. I mean, by now it could be debunked... time for a rabbit hole adventure I guess :bananadead:

    Two non-work related ones lol

So I found that the consensus is that the warp essentially connects the WHF realm to the 40k realm. There are references to both in both sets of stories. Things like a gate with Portal to the Warp and some fantasy characters talking to space elves and one even being imprisoned by said void fruits.

The kicker for me is that they reference similar entities from the warp like Slaanesh, and that there are chaos boons that allow the fantasy setting chaos army or something to use 40k weapons... or something.

Oh, and that one time some some skavens used a "farsqueeker" and ended up talking to Eldar... I guess?:notsure:

It seems like the universes are only connected through the warp but that could mean anything. It sounds like the warp is actually the central point between WHF, 40k, and even Blood Bowl... please don't let it be canon that the Orks in 40k come from the Blood Bowl world...

On a more serious note, I read something about Slaanesh being kidnapped from the Age of Sigmar world and being replaced by the Rat King. So I'm off to see if there is a corresponding timeline event in 40k that would mesh with the Rat King's arrival in AoS. I hope I didn't misunderstand the word kidnapped in what I read...

    I don't have a problem... I swear...

    I did some reading lol

Turns out that the Great Horned Rat sort of displaced Slaanesh before the end of times in WHF and continues to displace Slaanesh in Age of Sigmar.

His Skaven can't be corrupted by other chaos gods and he moves freely through the warp. Which means he's basically an up and coming power in the Chaos realm but stays on the AoS side. Sounds like he'd have a huge problem with genestealers and the tyranids if they ever decided to pop over through the warp. I'd love to see that to be honest.

The conflict would basically last for as long as the GHR existed. I'd like to think that it would eventually end in the combination of the skaven and tyranids into some sort of hybrid race with neither coming out on top.

I'm into huge idea stories so I'd like to see the tyranids send a small contingent to the AoS realm through the webway. I'm sure involving Bellisarius Cawl and the necrons or Fabius Bile and Harlequins would be suitably interesting to use as a plot device to shunt a hive ship accidentally through a webway gate or something.

Cut to a village in a drought stricken valley when a portal opens in the sky and a tyranid tyrannocyte smashes to the ground pulverizing a horse... The farmer exits the barn as the genestealers emerge to begin consuming the scattered corpse.

Hilarity ensues, then we hear nothing for like 10k years. Then in 50k, the Skavanids return to 40k realm because they literally succeeded in homogenizing the life forms and displacing the gods in the AoS realm. This would definitely increase Chaos forces in the 40k world by the GHR displacing the gods into other realms. I have no idea what would happen after that, but I want it pretty bad.

Honestly, none of that will happen or even anything close because something critical will get retconned just like everything else cool.

If I had time to write, I'd do a novella about the situation. With no editor, I'm sure it would be mostly garbage, but the story would be cool.

WH50k, where it's everybody against the Skavanids and nobody wins.

Played 40K from 1990-2005ish. I primarily played Space Marines (Whitescars or Blood Angels) or Eldar. I still have a ton of miniatures and books. Good thing as minis are crazy expensive now.

Started reading the HH books from the beginning but trailed off after about 35 books or so. Need to get back at it and catch up. Really loving the Whitescar related books that Chris Wraight has been writing. Also love just about everything Dan Abnett has written.

I have read literally nothing from the White Scars. I'll add them farther up on my list.
