Has anyone mounted this Warn Hidden Winch Bumper on a truck with the TSS on the lower part of the grill like. Pro ?
I wonder if you could get it without the hoop ?

I'm really interested in the question too. From the pictures, I'm pretty sure the TSS is going to be blocked. I've considered calling Warn to see if they are going to make a modified version now that all the forthcoming Tacomas are going to have a problem. I think TSS is mandatory on all the new ones.

Called Warn. They do not have one without the hoop. And don't do a special order that deletes the hoop. Too bad. I like the no cut design. So it's off to SOS. C4 . Or others. Maybe

With Warn bumper, Smitty winch and RCI skid plates my 887 coils sagged a lil more than .75. Bumped 5100's a notch to compensate.

I saw a post somewhere in TW of a guy that just cut off the hoop. He was able to rig a small bar light mount where he did the cut that gave it a finished look. A bar light wouldn’t go up as high since it’s flat so it wouldn’t block the TSS. I guess the option is cut off the hoop or go with another brand and cut up the truck.

Back a bit, @Intrepid posted the following about the Warn mounted on his '18 (I believe it is) with the TSS and is appears as though it doesn't interfere with the functionality of it at all.

Perhaps an update after a few more months @Intrepid?

Yea I thought about that . Just cut off the hoop. Weld on a couple of tabs where you made the cuts and bolt on a light bar. Just don't want or need the light bar.

I don't think Intrepid has a Pro Grill. That hoop is gonna be a problem if you do. Guess Warn won't sell as many if they don't do a no hoop option.

@warn, are you listening? Make a lower hoop version and there’s multiples here that'll buy!

Problem is: even though all tacos now will come with TSS, they mount in different locations and the Pro grill is a minority.

Solution: three options... High hoop, low hoop, no hoop. Only the low hoop is really any work at all. No hoop is easy.

Mine is a Sport Grille. I'd like to put a Pro Grille but I'm sure it'd be a problem with TSS.

Anyone have some expertise when it comes to mounting a snow plow? I'd like to get a light duty plow that I would possibly attach to the semi hidden winch mount. Am I crazy to think this might be possible?

FWIW, I talked with Warn about 30 minutes ago. The agent I talked with was unaware of the issue with the hoop and the Tacoma Pro grille. He indicated that they had already redesigned the hoop once to accommodate Toyota enlarging the emblem (probably to manage the TSS install). But he wasn't aware that the TSS was in a different location on the Pro grilles. I suggested that a hoop-less, or very low hoop would still sell well.

Perhaps we could mount a phone campaign and make 2-3 calls a week asking for a Pro friendly version... :spending:

It's what I said when I called. I got someone that didn't exactly sound like he cared. Too bad. If they had at least one other option I think they're sales would improve.

Posed the TSS question to Warn Support (specifically about the OR version) Via Email. Here's my message and response:

    To: XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

We lowered the hoop down to clear the radar. I have heard however if the truck is one of the TRD Pro models they moved the sensor down from the emblem which puts it right behind the bar which would interfere.

    Subject: Bumper and Toyota TSS

I'm considering purchasing your semi-hidden winch mount kit/bumper (Warn part number 100044) for a 2018 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road. This vehicle has the Toyota TSS radar sensor in the grill under the Toyota logo. Will your 100044 interfere with the function of the TSS radar?

    Thanks!!!
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Looks like OR models are GTG with the Warn Bumper, but not so much the Pro or others with the TSS sensor mounted in similar locations. I noticed that there was no mention fix in works for the Pro.

    Thought I'd pass this along.
