The officer on the case emailed me last week saying they needed to take a final statement, guessing the court case is going through.

I have already emailed witness statement to officer Cassie(Constable Kolanski) at March. but I haven't heard back from them yet.
I thought that I have to file a small claim at court separately in order to get my $15,000 back.
I am an immigrate. I am not familiar with the process. please correct me if I am wrong.

In Canada, if he’s broke or declared bankruptcy, you won’t be able to get all of your money back. Get in contact with the Police again, this time by phone if possible.

 

Small claims court is your only chance of getting anything back. The police won't give you anything.
