I know for myself and I believe @tacoma16 it was the same. Given bullshit and as soon as you threaten legal action the money was given back.

I filed with MasterCard and they started the process. As soon as I told him it's in MasterCards hand he refunded me. But asked if he 'could give it to me Monday because more orders will come in over the weekend'

It was at that point I realized it was a Ponzi scheme.

 

My dealings with him were only on a potential sale that I backed out of when things seemed off. Glad I did. Seems like most of the people on TW and True North are in the middle of some sort of action. Your point is bang on though, I doubt he has any money left to pay the people who are left without product. He was counting on continuing his scheme in order to refund back orders and issues he's had. It looks like, thank god, that avenue has been cut off.

 

My thanks to the guys who spoke out. You saved me one hell of another potential headache. Sometimes these guys pop up somewhere else with another names, stories etc. When the manufacturing co.s start screening their distributors more closely, this BS may stop. Until then, my goods will be shipped to a freight forwarder, then I pick it up myself stateside. Warranty? I'll cross that bridge when I get there. Pretty barren up here when it comes to quality distributors. Hope that changes soon.

As for what's adult, getting your named dragged through the mud when you fuck up repeatedly is part of being a professional. As far as I know no one is going after the owner of Core on a personal level, it's his business and professional life that are under fire and that is a part of what happens when you fail to live up to your commitments as a business owner. Trust me, I hold a professional accreditation in my field. I've seen it happen. The lawsuits hurt far FAR less than losing your reputation. I've seen it happen. Insurance covers failures but it can never cover your reputation, nor should it.

 

Insurance probably doesnt get your fingers back either. Just saying......

@Exracer2 is 100% right. I m giving him until February 5, 2018 for my parts or full refund. Than I ll contact the Police, lawyer, CRA, credit cards and banks and full media, tv station(CTV Barrie), and internet websites posting all his info. The walls of his life will be getting smaller real fast.

 

Not sure media will really do anything since it's a really small scene. Hell most don't even know what overlanding is lol.

But the rest yes will definitely help.

 

Wow this is greasy! I'm going to start googling shops before buying products. I didn't buy anything from these guys but have been in a similar situation. Sucks cause not only is he screwing individuals, its ruining people's faith in using small time shops.

 

It really does. I find it easier trusting a shop in California thousands of km's away than right here in my backyard. Core did a number on a lot of us. He not only didn't deliver products as promised, he kept our money too.

 

Basically why I paid the extra money to order directly from Radflo and Totalchaos instead of finding a supplier. At least when I ask a manufacturer a question I can be fairly certain they are not just pulling answers out of their asses. Also you dont have to wait on lead times for a supplier to fill a certain order or weight before they can bring a product in to save them shipping costs.

My total chaos and all my fox suspension was from CT Motorsport. As well as my sliders and ARb stuff.

Any questions are answered easily and honestly because they actually know what they're talking about. And orders always seem to come in fast but I'm pretty sure he just orders and sends to a mailbox in the US and makes the drive. Regardless always got my stuff fast. The only thing that took long was the Fox stuff but that was on their part not CT . They were on back order everywhere including fox

I'm not sure if CT Motorsport ships through Canada but if you're in the GTA area they are definitely the best shop to deal with and very knowledgeable on the stuff.

I had my total chaos come in through Sherwood Park Toyota. I gave them the part # and had them ship with other parts.
