Vehicles don’t wear out - parts do.

I had my last Tacoma for 20 years and three weeks.

I can't keep my truck forever, I simply won't live that long. I will keep it as long as i can provided it remains reliable and doesn't turn into a money pit of constant repairs.

I didn't watch TV or use social media so I guess I'm not exposed to the marketing, but I had a G4 rental for two weeks and nothing about it made me want one.

To be sure …the environment seems to be a lil more hostile in my Pro ….a lil more dust in the air and the rocks a little more sharp. Never had these problems with my sr5.

Being stubborn and not very bright I still daily drive a 25 year old GM product, so yeah I may just be able to make a Toyota last forever.

Really? Cut tires and chipped windshield are random things that can and do happen to any vehicle.

    Hi Joe,
I'm just playing along with the thread. Everything I’ve mentioned have all happened after/during trail use.

This! I keep them until like 80k and by that time they are starting to need repairs or becoming less reliable.
Diminishing returns and all that. Forever is a long time.

I really do enjoy my Tacoma. 65k miles in and not a single problem mechanically speaking.

I kept my 91 4Runner for 15 years and 272,000 miles, followed by a 2006 Xterra for 15 years and 305,000 miles. Would have done the same with my 2021 TRDOR DCSB, but someone totaled it after 18 months. At my age, driving less I should be keeping my 2023 TRDOR PRO forever unless someone totals it. All these vehicles had manual transmissions and were very hard to find, including my 6MT Pro. I will never get rid of it, as it is extremely unlikely that a manual transmission will be available in a truck in another 15 years.
