I put a high clearance rear bumper with swing out on my truck back in mid December. Everything has been fine until last week when it(computer) finally noticed the parking sensors were removed. We unplugged the harness for them, no cuts. Now I have loud dinging at start up and a see dealer screen on the dash and radio. Took it to the dealer and was told they can’t disable as it’s a safety thing.

    anyone else had this?

Have you tried turning off the system, or minimize it using custom options?

This is the reason I hate TPMS...

This hasn't happened in months, but when it's really cold out the TPMS light will come on, and it always seems to be a false positive!

Your air pressure changes when it's cold. If you use the recommended air pressure on the door, you should be fine, unless you live in Alaska, or Siberia.

    Ouch.
Not much to offer. You can always try to fool the system, but having the sensors would help.....a lot. Like my signature says, if you know how the system works, you may be able to "fix" it.

I just hate how sensitive the damn thing is...

My dad's 2018 Yukon actually tells you the pressure in all four tires, but my 10-year old Taco and my mom's 2013 Nissan Murano just have a light with a picture of a tire that comes on! Translation: USELESS unless your on the highway and a blowout could occur!

Just aggravating that they can disable but won’t as Toyota says so. They kept it over night as there were some other things that needed addressing, so I’ll see what I can figure out tomorrow.

    thanks guys

I was sick of the seatbelt alarm going off when I had the dog or a bunch of groceries in the front seat (I have an RC); Toyota dealer claimed it could not be disabled and I was sick of forgetting to buckle the seatbelt then having the alarm go off after I started driving...

My uncle’s friend had a totaled 2010 RC in his salvage yard, and he cut the seatbelt buckle out of it for me; Problem solved!
