Wondering if anyone else is having this issue...

I got a Bugflector II for my 2016 Tacoma, and after a couple months I noticed that from the driver seat, it appeared 'warped'... not symmetrical across the hood from left to right.

I thought maybe it was just because of the perspective of where I was seated, but after moving to the center of the truck, it looked warped from left to right.

So i contacted Lund and they sent a replacement. SAME THING right from day one.
So I'm not sure if there's pressure on it somewhere that's causing it to bow or what.

maybe its the mounting holes? ;) seriously though, have no idea. Can you capture it on picture and post it up?

A couple of days ago I pulled my bug guard off the truck. I can honestly say I like the look better without it.

Not a GREAT photo, but the best I can get from my perspective. The mounting holes seem to lineup okay, but now that you say that i did have to push ever so slightly on the deflector for a couple of them. but it didn't seem to alter the shape.

Is it warped before you install it? If not, then I bet your mounting holes are slightly off.

If straight before mounting-- When you mount it, attach all mounting screws very loosely-- just enough to hold it on. Verify correct shape and tighten each screw just 1/4 to 1/2 a turn and move to the next. Repeat until all are tight.

If you fully tighten one screw, then bend or arc the deflector to match a second mounting hole, that may be where the problem is. Of course, i suppose it's possible one of the holes is simply mis-aligned.

Can definitely see the change in lighting on the edge of the guard. +1 to harpolith's info.
See? that would bug the crap out of me - but then again, my OCD is pretty bad lol. After messing with it I'd probably pull it off and post it up on Craigslist. :frusty:

or better yet, get a clear vinyl wrap on the leading edge or paint protection film. the benefit of the film, it form fits way better than a bug shield and you don't have to worry about it ever rubbing your paint.
