Was it this way from the factory? If so I’d be asking for them to pay for all of those brake jobs you had to pay for

I’D be demanding a new truck at this point. Turn over all your prior invoices for brakes, your invoices at other dealerships for time and money spent for missed diagnosis, and our time for reading the results over and over again. That should be worth at least a 2021 4 banger. :amen::rofl:

I didn't realize that everyone would see it if I just did the update to the original. I apologize. I wanted everyone to see it especially if someone else has the same problem.

OK, I'm deleting the responses... I apologize. Once again, I didn't realize I had to do it just once. :(

They are waiting for Toyota approval to redo the brakes and replace the axle at Toyota's cost. I am probably going to have to go to the other dealership when this is all fixed with the paperwork to prove it.

Yes, from the factory. I am going to go back to my servicing dealership with all the paperwork when this is finished.

So how does the rear axle being bent warp the front rotors? Did they figure that out?

just replaced my front pads for the first time at around 65k and still had some left but i work in another state and inspection was coming up and it just passed and now have 75k on my rear shoes and still good...didn't turn my rotors either, they were fine. probably replace them the next time along with pads at about 130k.

Don't bother deleting, but for future reference your can use the multi quote tool to respond to multiple posts with one reply or at least do it in one post.

This post is an example, since I quoted and replied to another post below vvvv

If rears start causing pulsations because of uneven transfer layer, the pedal pressure will fluctuate with each rotation and affect the fronts.

Definitely good to have on my radar as i mentioned in previous post My brakes have shuttered on hardish breaking at highway speeds since about 2k miles. I asked them to look at both my 5k service and my 10k service,,,,now need to make sure its noted on the paperwork that I asked them to check it out. Both times they said nothing was wrong. I am going to try and bed my brakes in and see if that helps. Glad you have an answer and will be getting it repaired.

I don't know that it is fixed, yet, but both I and Toyota know what is causing the problem. It is documented on their end that several of their trucks have had this issue with them having been shipped with defective axles from the factory. I am waiting on them to approve the replacement.

Yes. Please read the update on my original post. It was a defective rear axle.

now the question is, did you keep all the receipts for the repairs and will toyota reimburse you for all those repairs since it was a defect?
