I have been considering moving up from the stock tire size 245/75/16 to 265/75/16. It seem after reading many post here that most love this size. My question is , after reading my power train warranty paperwork it gives a list of things that can void the warranty and oversized tires are one of them. Would they consider 265/75 oversized tires?

If you're worried about warranty, dont do ANYTHING. A dealership and or Toyota can deny almost anything if you made a modification. And it can all be random. Really.

By the letter of the law, yes they could probably deny you coverage based on that. My local dealer never gave me any grief having 265/75 on my 2nd gen, but my dealer has been pretty cool as far as dealerships go. 265/70 is a stock size, you may be able to go up to those without risking it if you're really worried about it.

I already accepted the fact that if anything goes wrong with my drivetrain, Toyota will tell me I abuse my truck off-road and deny warranty. My truck has a lot of pinstripes, skid plate and some undercarriage areas have scratches/dents.

I just hope for the best now haha.

I believe I may just go to 265/70 so that nothing comes up. I figure a dealership may use any excuse possible not to honor a warranty. Thanks for reply’s

Yeah that really shouldn't be called a skid, maybe for little pebbles but I think I had some dents from those too...

Some dealers sell with oversized tires, at a huge markup. I can see them voiding the warranty.

Typically any mild mod won't. It all varies with the dealer.

35's and premature break wear or bearing wear, maybe.

That said, no mod "voids" the entire warranty. Just symptoms that can be related to the mod.
