Should technically be in off topic, but given that Colorado is a direct competitor to 3rd gen it seems more fitting to post here

Well I mean, if it's in the manual.

EDIT: I'm not for Chevy, but if the standards are in the manual and the warranty is fortified by those standards then OP is in the wrong not Chevy.

    Wouldn't insurance cover that?

If indeed Chevy doesn't cover it then insurance should definitely be the backup plan.

Modded it so much it turned into a 4Runner
It was more than a bump. The trailer axle is bent as well.

Seems logical that they would deny the claim. 347lbs bouncing is quite a force. That is well beyond normal use.

maybe he should have just gone over the bump from the other direction and seen if it reversed the damage! Doubt seriously that the 100 lbs over 2K limit and no trailer brakes caused the damage, but rules are rules! Suspect he was hauling ass and his head went through the roof - hope they inspected for that too. :)

Was he/she using a stabilizing hitch? Man that looks way worse than any 2100 lbs trailer should ever be able to do.

The lesson here: Never jump your truck with a trailer attached.

Crap on Chevys all you want, but I can't imagine towing a trailer offroad and "hitting" a bump. Bumps are things you slow down for, and ease over; especially when towing 2000 lbs.

Speed must have been a factor...
