I think your going to be fine, I just had some warranty work done that the Shop Foreman said would take a while because he was going to have to go back and forth with Corporate, he sounded frustrated by the process as well... " Have you tried this? Have you done that?"

It sounds to me like they have identified the problem and at the end of the day your getting a whole new unit installed - nice!

It might be that something is out of alignment (maybe the frame) and the seal is not the problem.

Its insane sometime what we replace when its something very small thats wrong but more often then not the reason is its cheeper labor wise to just replace the whole assembly instead of having the tech remove the entire window and take it apart to the point they can replace the seal then reassemble it and reinstall the whole thing while hoping thats the problem and not a symptom of something else, granted sometimes there are little parts that simply cannot be ordered on their own and only are availably with the entire assembly. One of the guys at my work replaced the whole sunroof track since the little mesh shield that pops up when sunroof is opened was broken but could not be ordered by itself.

Well I just got off the phone with Toyota. They are going to cover the repair which includes an entire new back window for fixing 1 small window seal.... Crazy... What a pain in the butt, but I guess I am lucky it was resolved within 48 hours.

I work as an advisor for Subaru.... Our guidelines are for body glass paint or claims over 2000 we need to call for prior authorization before we can proceed with repairs.... sometimes this can take some time...

edit .... that seal is probably pressed into the glass and only serviceable as an assembly :)

It’s good to hear this all worked out
    What’s the air pillar rattle?
I got a rattle by my passenger seat like the seat rubbing on the center console or something

The "A" Pillar and the Speaker Cover rub together and make noise, you can stick something between them to stop it.

Correct. But on a 30-40k truck that is a year old that is sorta bullshit. Dealer really cant do anything for it. It is a design problem. 2 options. 1 put something between them i.e. a business card or felt that is more subtle. 2 is to smack the shit out of the a pillar and it moves forward a bit. This exposes the rub spot and eliminates the sound for the time being. Just keep it in mind if you ever here a annoying noise near your oh shit handle.

That is the first symptom. Cold seems to increase the chance of noise. 40 degree mornings in so cal made me notice it more. If you run the heat for 5 min it minimizes it also. So odd.

Not odd at all, parts and metal expand with heat and “fill gaps”. So does humidity versus dry weather.
