2017 2.7 5 speed...I had a blower motor replaced but that was not a warranty repair.

Had a battery replaced cuz it started leaking right away. That sums it up. Even though it's a Toyota. Now I must knock on wood. :fingerscrossed:

Replaced factory tonneau cover because of bad weatherstripping.

rear driver side speaker blown and replaced.

replaced front differential due to a failed needle bearing.

The fuel door seized up and bent ( a Tacoma tradition) also replaced under warranty.

2017 Taco: Emergency warranty repair (basically I bought and installed a new battery myself and was reimbursed by Toyota) for battery two years into ownership.

2020 Taco: TRD Pro badge on driver's side door was peeling off a few months into ownership.

My headliner was fall apart. Took it in for warranty. They denied it said I had taken it out causing the damage.

    Uhh…what?

Proceeded to refinance my Toyota away from Toyota financing to my bank, will never buy another Toyota, and have turned away at least 15-20 people so far away from this dealership. Makes me feel a little better knowing it cost them a lot more than it would have just for the warranty work.

I’m always curious why a warranty gets turned down for whatever reason. I would think the dealership wants it to get warrantied so they get paid. That’s my thought process at least.

My motorcycle dealer LIKES warranty work because they get reimbursed, it keeps the service department busy, it generates good will, and customers browse the new merchandise while they wait. Makes sense to me.

No Taco warranty claims in five years, just a couple hassle-free recall fixes.

    Cheers! Dave

Just took my 2022 in for a leaking shock and the d(stealership said they are on back order. That's it see you later? Not much of a warranty if the don't fix anything or have parts.

My spare tire hoist (?) system that holds the spare underneath the bed failed. It seized and would not lower the tire. So, I plugged a grinder into the bed outlet and cut off the retainer to release the spare. Carried the spare in the bed for a while until I couldn't stand it anymore. Went in for 30K service and asked them replace it and re-install my spare.
    No charge!

:hattip:So, a shout out to Toyota of Surprise, AZ!

I had the timing chain cover re-sealed at about 10k miles. Dealership noticed it when I took it in for an oil change.

I tried to fight it by calling corporate. Waste of time. They said our tech said x. We trust the tech. Case closed.

Had the driver seat frame replaced back in December of 2022. In process of the repair the techinician broke some trim pieces and then tried to hide them with electrical tape. I have been trying to get it fixed since then and still have had no resolution. Boy do I just love having other people work on my vehicles. As a diesel tech myself, the more I see other shops work, the more I understand why people have stopped respecting the industry. It gives us all a bad image...

Bed and cab out of alignment fix.

    Blower motor replacement.

-skipping the A/C fan installation and did one myself.

-skipping the rear stop light fix due to racks and shell being in the way- I’ll seal that one if it leaks myself.

Tailgate bushing broke on my '21 and tweaked corner of tailgate body work as well. Service manager at West Herr in Toyota took pictures late summer last year and said "not a problem, we'll fix it" -- 8 months later I'm still being jerked around and can't get ahold of anybody. They originally wanted me to drive my truck an hour away to a third-party body shop, had a rep tell me they'd rent me a loaner car, no further details, never returned calls to schedule appointment, and sometime in March I got a random call from Hertz rental asking me if I was coming to pick up my rental (???). Toyota corporate was 0 help, said dealerships are private and it's not their problem. Still need to call the dealership manager, but just so sick and tired of this. By now truck is out of warranty based on both mileage and purchase date. Didn't get my third free oil change either because they were supposed to take care of both of these items in the same visit.
