Usually, but sometimes not. No judgement here - I’m sure he just needs to get his new truck back on the road regardless:

On that note - $7K seems a bit much as well.

Here’s the parts page for all of the rear diff components:

    https://parts.olathetoyota.com/auto...niversals-and-rear-axle-cat/differential-scat

The assembly (part 7) looks to be $1200. Assume that would be pretty easy to swap out for a decent mechanic....

I’m not asking them for anything special the truck is how I make money so I 100% just need my brand new truck back on the road and I was already looking at parts I have my own garage and everything with a lift and a few race cars I can do the work but I shouldn’t have to pay for the parts or take them time out of my day to do it myself

You’re 100% correct, keep pushing it with Toyota corporate. I think they will make it right and fix the truck.

Totally understand that man! I can’t have my truck down for a day either.

If you have the time, definitely push them again through another dealer (that gets good reviews). Get out of the city if you are in the city! Most suburban/ country dealers (at least around here) usually understand what a truck is used for and what is normal. I would just give them the facts (don’t bring up that you stopped at another dealer first ...unless they find it).

If they refuse as well, you may have to ‘eat it’ to get back in business quickly and fight afterward....

What was the dealer's reasoning? Has to be more than just "Nope."

Silver lining - Good time for an E-Locker. May be able to find one abandoned in the woods.

Not sure “diff blew after I pulled my buddy’s truck out of the snow” is in the warranty coverage.

Dude. You wanted warranty. They said warranty denied because they think you abused it. You say no I didn't. Toyota is coming to look at it. You need to be there.
Going to a different dealer is stupid because as soon as they type in the VIN your records come up and they will know.
Best bet is meet with Toyota. Tell them the truth. Let the chips fall where they may.

If that’s what he said to the dealer then he gave them the information to deny the claim.

I'm reading this thread and thinking that Toyota only warranties mall crawlers.

Don’t blame Toyota; except for not policing their dealer network. But blame yourself a bit if you ever did a dealer survey and gave them a good review. Unfortunately that is the main way corporate tracks dealer service department performance.

OP Stick to your guns. You will win this fight as long as you keep your cool and don’t give up. I know that’s easier said than done sometimes. I’d want to throw this service manager against the wall. But getting your truck fixed is more important.

I had a vehicle once back in the days where the back rear wheel was spinning out, tire grabbed the pavement, and chipped a diff tooth. Don't agree with the tranny going first.

You would think they would have to prove the cause. Without even going into it I don't see how they can make a decision.

When I spoke to the service manager he told me it was a judgment call on his behalf and there wasn’t anything I can do about it and that he had to protect his dealership
