Any junk yards nearby you could check out?
Did they give a good reason for not helping you out, or was it just based on the dirt on your truck?

You took the truck in and they gave you no paperwork?

Have you created a user account with Toyota and looked if they have it entered there?

Really? I can tell you this, if my truck blew the rear end and it had dirt underneath. They would absolutely be fixing my truck under warranty. And I wouldn't be on this forum crying I'd be making them fix it. Also I would have paperwork with Toyotas diagnostics. Halibut I say

That sucks your diff went, and warranty doesn’t cover it. Guys use these trucks for forestry, oil, construction, that’s truck stuff.

I know this is stressful for you, but could we have more details? Why are they denying warranty work?

Dude, follow the basic warranty solution guidelines. Did you even file a claim for arbitration? Read post #38 and follow through... something is not being disclosed here!

OP, did a regional rep ever come take a look, or is this just the dealer being hard to deal with?

I was straight dying when I read these.

Op, the way an extended warranty works is if it’s under factory warranty, extended warranty won’t cover anything. However if the factory warranty doesn’t cover something they may cover the work. I would call the extended warranty company directly and explain the situation. Perhaps they will cover it since Toyota is neglecting to do so. If not, then tell them you want to cancel the contract as you’re getting rid of the vehicle and they should refunded a prorated amount back to you or the finance company

Wow that is terrible man! Could always post a wanted ad here in BST for stock rear diff that someone swapped from their Sport. Also might be able to pick up a whole entire rear axle from a salvage yard for way less than anyone would charge. I would be super pissed too but you have options so hang in there. Good luck

Dealers can and do reject warranty claims all the the time. The ultimate decision though, resides with Toyota corporate. The zone/ district manager is your next level of escalation. The dealer can be a help or hindrance in this regard. If you are a repeat purchase/ service customer they are much more likely to go to bat for you. If you came in chasing a skinny deal and have no prior service history with them, don't expect much help. That's just the way it is. If the dealer is giving you a hard time from the get go, as it appears in this case, and the Toyota Customer Experience Center is a dead end then the only real recourse is to use the dispute settlement/ arbitration process. Personally, I would try to find out who the local district rep. is and contact/ harass them directly about your situation and request a formal written response on your warranty claim, including the specific reason(s) for denial. Be sure to cc your state attorney's general office. Good luck.

Anyone considering buying a tacoma should stay off these forums. Every day there's a new horror story. If it isn't Toyota (and their stealerships), it is owners that hate their truck.
