Im buying a manual tranmission double cab sport and plan on keeping vehicle for a long time.
Clutch and Brakes aren't covered in ECP.
Is extended care protection worth the money????
If so what package do you recommend.

If i dont purchase ECP that means less monthly payment for me :)
Initially i was thinking of going all out and getting a 72-80 month plan.

    THANKS!!!!!!!!

In the states you have up until your original 3/36 to buy a toyota plan. Troy out of Greenfield Ma Toyota gives the best price (not sure if he sells up north). He is who I bought from and signed up for the 7/100/0 plan & the Toyota Rewards card. The plan ended up costing $880. What made me go for it was the fact I had some warranty issues during the initial 3/36, like my 4WD acuator dying out at 16k to the tune of $500 (toyota dime)...plus a couple of other issues.... I have also read a few folks that have used the extended warranty quite a bit... it was worth it to me at that price.

Hey Saskatchewan - Ontario here. Don't buy the ECP from the dealer. As mentioned above, Troy Dietrich at Greenfield Toyota sells the US factory (not third party) warranties to Canadians. Due to some customs thing, your Canadian vehicle must be at least a year old and under the usual 3 year/60,000 km mark. (so you have the factory coverage for this time) He sells the US Platinum plan 7 year/100,000 miles, $0 deductible for around $1000.00 US which is basically the same as the Canadian plan minus some travel planning stuff. (go to the finance section of www.toyota.com to look up the details.

The web site for the warranty is:
    http://fd-warranty.com/contactus.html

As my Tacoma is less than 1 year old, I haven't bought one for it yet, but recently purchased one for our Corolla for $910.00 US. According to Troy, if a warranty claim is needed, you should direct the dealer to contact the US phone number - Toyota warranty is North American wide.

BTW - the dealer INVENTORY price for a 7 year, 160,000 km ECP in Canada (as of last spring) was $1,600.00 - so these things are ALWAYS negotiable.

Is an ECP worth it? Consider the price of an air conditioner compressor, 4X4 equipment etc. verses the cost of the ECP.

I purchased the ECP from Toyota. No complaints here yet. I factored it into the financing and it didn't increase the payments by a heck of a lot.
