Was I the only one that noticed the "Built in Texas" Tacoma was made in Mexico?

I forgot I had this. "Built in Texas."

 

That's funny. I thought all 3rd gen double cabs are assembled in Mexico?

 

They're built in both Baja and Texas. The plant in San Antonio, Texas produces Tacoma and Tundras, all day, everyday. My truck was built in Texas FWIW.

 

It's a mixture. My double cab came from San Antonio. Somebody should have checked before they put the sticker on that one though.

 

Mine is made in Texas but the stock leafs are made in Mexico and probably some other parts as well

Not sure what this thread has to do with Ted Cruz, but I'm voting for him.

My 2017 Limited was made in Texas. In fact, it has only been out of Texas for three days.

Mine says built in Texas and it’s a DC auto.

 

All the Pro's are Texas only.

 

I believe the MTs are made in Texas only.

 

Indeed they are, also are Access Cabs and all Canadian Models.

 

If your vin # starts with a 1 it was built in Texas. If it starts with a 3 it was built in Mexico. Just an easy way to figure it out if you need to know.

 

Tacoma’s built in Texas also start with a 5. 1 4 5 are USA, 2 is Canada, 3 is Mexico

 

Mine is a DCSB Auto and it was made in Mexico. I figured if you’re buying a Taco wouldn’t Mexico be the place you’d want it to be from?

On a side note when Graeme from Go Fast Campers was at my house installing my camper he had to tap the rear brake wire for the center brake light he commented the my wiring was the tightest wrapped he’d ever seen. I told him it was because my Tacoma was from Mexico where they wrap those Taco’s tight!
