Over the weekend I was backing a trailer and hit a hole and a big rock with my 2000 4 cyl man tacoma. After the hole it quit running. I towed it back to the house and looked, the only thing I could see wrong was that the exhaust pipe between the joint after the CC and the muffler was bent upward impinging slightly on the brake cable. It does look like the O2 sensor made a small dent in the underside of the bed. Now it won't start. It turns over fine, but will not start. At first I thought it might be a damaged fuel line because it sounds like it is not even trying to fire up. I can see no damage to the fuel line. I am now thinking that I damaged the O2 sensor.

I'm not a great mechanic, learned all the parts today online and don't have a way to check for any computer codes (unless I take it in to the dealer :-O) ! My question is could the O2 sensor be why the engine will not start now?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

No the O2 sensor will not keep it from starting. How flat is the exhaust pipe?

probably blew a fuse when the o2 sensor wires got pinched jamming into the bed

check all your fuses under the dash as well as the ones under the hood

^This is possible if it shorted the O2 heater wires.

It is possible that the fuel pump has shut off due to the impact. A safety feature to prevent pumping fuel all over the place after accident.
