To protect the paint on my 2019 silver sky. I use Zipwax once an every couple months and Klasse wax twice a year. Truck parked outside, in sun usually. Any advice to better protect my paint and clearcoat over the life of the truck in this situation? Covered or shade parking not option currently.

Ceramic coating. If you do it yourself to save a bunch of money get a good brand and prepare to spend some time prepping the paint for coating.

Ah. I’ve thought about that. But would just using standard hand applied wax twice a year and zip wax be enough to protect the clear coat and paint itself?

Happen to know of a brand you’d recommend?

I used Armor Shield and like it so far. I have heard C.Quartz is good also. Seems to change all the time with constant improvements so research it a bit. Stay away form spray and wipe coatings except to use them after washing to enhance the original ceramic coating.

Idk, about doing the coating yourself. Imo, it's real easy to do a shoddy job, if its ones first attempt. I've even had others say that to me. They sell store bought over the counter sprays, but you'd be lucky for any to last a year....they are not the same thing.
I had my truck professionally done, and it still looks showroom new after 3 1/2 years.

I know a few that have used it here, you'll get 6 months to a year protection, before the weather, and car wash's take it off.

Man I freak out leaving my red Tacoma in this south Florida sun. I cleared out the garage for the summer to fit it in. Couple more years I’m sure I’ll be over it and not care tho

Wash the truck and then mist/wipe Turtle Wax Seal & Shine. Stuff has great gloss and beads water for six months. This product will make that silver color pop.

Save all that ceramic coating money and time for a cool drink.

I got the impression the OP is looking for sunlight (UV) protection for his paint. I don't see any claims for UV protection with these ceramic products (at least not on the Turtle Wax one that was linked above).

I'm thinking shade may be your only good option for this. Can you erect a temporary garage or carport where you park? (something with canvas or fabric top?)

    Something like this: Or:

What’s not an opinion but a fact is no quality ceramic coating comes in a spray bottle, and it’s for good reason.

What I use and the price is right. The most important part is prepping, removing any old coating or wax, paint correction if needed, and don’t let the coating be exposed to rain for at least 24 hours. Ideally 48, don’t wash the truck for 7 days. Then only use car wash soap.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
I use this every 2 years. Wash, clay bar, alcohol wipe, and apply CSL then EXO. Hardest part is the clay bar. My paint has zero areas of concern and has been in Florida since Jan ‘16.

After every wash I spritz some gtechniq c2v3 all over my truck and buff it off. Stuff works amazing and so easy to do. Would be best to have an actual ceramic coating as a base though

One of my friends wife, just had her new red honda accord done professionally with some stuff called pro 9H. Car looks amazing. I don't where they come up with all these buzz words for ceramic paint protection.
