After it finishes raining I want to wash and wax my new to me truck. I use meguier's gold class wash and I'm confused about which wax to use. Do I use the ultimate "kit" or do I use the quick wax? They are a lot of different waxes and I didn't know which I should use. When I wash and wax my lawn mower I use the turtle wax ice liquid so I can was the black plastic parts since it doesnt dry white.

Skip the waxes and use a sealant. Sealants seems to last longer and in most cases easier to apply. This is 2012 waxes to me are old school. I'd go with Klasse or Blackfire Wet Diamond

^^Completely agree. If you want to stick with Meguires, which I did recently, go with NXT tech wax 2.0. It is a long lasting sealant that will provide good reflection. In a couple weeks you could boost it with Meguires Ultimate Quick wax for a deep shine and good beading.

I would definitely stay away from turtle wax "ice". The stuff smells similar to WD-40 and is like spreading oil onto your paint.

Technically, if you want to "properly" care for your paint you should first use clay bar, followed by polish, a wax, and a sealant. I do this every 6 months and my paint looks better now than it did on the dealership's lot.

I also use Meguiar's products (their clay bar kit, show car glaze #7, Hi-Tech wax #26, and synthetic sealant #21). Some of these are available over the counter but some of them are not.

Meguiar's really isn't the most high end stuff you can buy but their products have worked well for me so far.

    +1

Pros are generally going to use 3M or other high-end materials, but Meguiar's is top-notch for the average vehicle owner.

Actually ur suppose to put the wax on top of the sealant cause the wax wears off faster and the sealant can't bond well to wax. I just use wet diamond which is a sealant.

Yes clay, sealant, wax in that order if you are not doing any correction steps.

    My mistake, you are correct.

Clay bar, polish, sealant, then wax.

Gold class wash smells good . i use the ulimate wash and wax .

Rinse the truck down , wash with gold class / ultimate wash and wax , rinse again , spray on quick wax , use absorber/ chamois to dry.

Should look great for awhile before needing a clay/polish/handwax.

You should try the pink soap they make...I forget the name but it's like a bubblegum pink. One of the slickest soaps I have used!

Meguiars #26 professional High tech Yellow wax is my favorite! I apply it with my DA buffer or by hand. It goes on easy and wipes off extremely easy and leaves a great shine. Durability is good too but I do not know how good since I use this wax monthly and use a spray wax weekly.

I use Adams polishes. Made in America. You will not be disappointed by their products or customer service. Plus they have a video on how to properly use every product they make/sell on YouTube.

Chemical Guys for all your trucks exterior needs. They make some great stuff, some of it being over-the-top expensive, but how often do you really need to wax?
