Buy a FF spray compressed air gun and FF in a gallon size paint can, in the process you get rust protected too. The frame on my 2011 is still black and I am in Maine close to NH where they clear the roads with salt.

I had someone do it and no, not all of that got done, except the fenders. I do know it was a good thorough job of everything underneath but will have to look at getting those other areas done in the spring. I just learned about NH oil mouse out and wonder if that would be a better option in the hood and engine compartment, maybe the rockers and doors too. I spray peppermint oil every 2 weeks but the more protection the better around here....

Rinsing fluid film with water is fine, avoid soap.

Tried FF for 2 years and after a winters of touchless carwash with undercarriage wash the underside was stripped of the FF and rust spots were forming and growing. I switched to Cosmoline and it is much better. FF is good for certain things, but if you use only it for the underside I would not do undercarriage washes until the winter salt is done.

My experience too. I still use PB Blaster Surface Shield for places I need the protectant to creep a little more.
