Saw that earlier. Looks like poor quality control at the plant. They’re lucky they caught it early in the generation. Hopefully it’s limited scope.

Unfortunate. But they’ll take care of it. They won’t let an issue like this taint their main cash cow.

These are machine welded right? My guess is a calibration was off for locating the welds.

Makes me want to check the truck.

I'm sure those frames are broken up into sub-weldments so it's hopefully contained to one area. I don't expect any better from Chrysler.

My mom has a new JLU Rubi, so I keep an eye / presence in the JLWranglerForum and saw this before the recall, along with the other issues...Ran the VIN for hers and shes good. Feel bad for these guys/gals. JLU Rubi's are pushing $50k+ equipped, that's alot of dough for something that has trackbar/frame weld failures in less than a year. Not exactly confidence inspiring.

Whats weird is that there seems to be 2 issues here, misalignment of the welds, and porous welds. The porous welds are probably from a lack of shield gas. Likely someone in QC shit the bed. Also what are all these comments about perferring human welds to robot welds? While I agree i perfer human welds, i highly doubt any car manufacturer is not using robot welding, let alone a car manufacturer building vehicles in north america like toyota.

It is funny/ironic, at least they lasted a bit longer than a year and Toyota did replace or buy back trucks, alot WAYYYY outside of warranty.
