Tune it. It won’t cost that much. You won’t care after you drive it anyway.

    this and that...
ford is one of the last ones besides toyota that offers manual trans. the ranger raptor is a pretty nice truck, gotta admit, but no manual offering for this beast, well...thats just a damn shame.

    Yeah...
Remember that time Ford came out with the F150 Raptor and Toyota responded with the Super Tundra?

Will the drive shaft in the Ranger Raptor be more durable than in the F-150 250 & 350s?

I still see police depts running Crown Victorias, I don't think Ford has built one of those in well over ten years. I still see Ford trucks on the road from the late 70's and 80's. They aren't turbo charged, but I rarely see a 70's or 80,s Toyota truck on the road.

I'll give you 5k for it.

In the past six months I've seen more late 70's cars on the road in good condition, not muscle cars but huge 2dr sedans and wagons. Than I have in probably the last five years.

LOL, the most recent offer was a straight up trade for a really clean 2004 Ford Excursion Diesel, the second was $16,000 cash; I graciously declined both offers.

I don’t think the police have it in the budget to get new cars all the time. So of course you keep some old cars around to give to the cadets and fuckups.

That they do, I live in the rust belt. Lot of Toyota trucks probably also made it to dryer climates where they can survive, lots of trucks probably have been turned into primarily off road vehicles. There might be some nice Toyota trucks in museums or private collections. Those are not going to be driven around to run errands.

I did see a mid 80's 5 lug regular cab on the road yesterday.
Those cars have probably been rebuilt a time or two if they are using them as front line vehicles. They also provide a bit of nostalgia.

That fixes the gear searching (if you weren’t cool and bought a manual) but not the power. The 3.5 simply doesn’t produce the power where you need it and is about 100ft/lbs short of what it should be. Another 100hp would be nice as well.

Losing 3 hp per 1000 foot is the issue, around 30~40 ft-lb. While up in vail Friday and surrounding areas you wouldn’t believe the amount of EV cars I saw. No lose of power with an EV.
