I feel the same way. Only watches I ever really look at in dept. stores are Seiko and Citizen. I have never bought from one though, because all the ones I have looked at were really marked up.

yep my normal place to get quick battery changes and stuff carries junk now. all quartz powered all overpriced and their biggest case is invicta. I have one invicta with is the 609 part of the limited edition grand reserve line. I really enjoy it but it is a monster at 55mm dial and 24 mm thick lol. Weighs like a lb

A few more with some natural patina coming through. Been real happy with this purchase. Love the weight and toughness of a full brass watch. Went to a ballistic nylon band with bronze hardware.

Gotcha, Yeah I like the look of the brass there. Looks good with the two tone. Personally the nickel bezel would be a bit much flash for me. If you can do it safely, I would go for it. Mod these watches like we mod our trucks. Can always order a spare.

Nice. Also, once the brass is exposed there are a lot of techniques to speed up the patina and give it an even more unique look.

Im sure. Should be fun to see it change. Love living in the mountains but the air out here lacks the salt I'm used to in the South. Mine is taking a bit longer. I like the natural age, no two will be the same depending on activities and its use. Kinda cool like that.

absolutly i was even debating stripping the entire case. we will see its likely a few weeks till i get it. I have a little hamilton manual wind the chrome is peeling i was considering stripping as well. Not a craxy expensive watch but i thought it be neat

totally changes the look. most of the bezel replacements are from the skx lineup and dont look right to me. this isnt supposed to be a watch thats super accurate. it is a down and dirty russian dive watch haha

Consider grabbing a full brass down the road. It was only a little leap of faith from all the positive reviews on Helson, Armida, and a few other small batch watches, and mine lived up to it all. Very reasonably priced for what you get in a 300m Seiko Auto.
