From left to right: the seiko my dad bought in high school and wore until I turned 18, my cross hair pre 1952...? (It doesn’t have the seamasters logo on the back) original spidell band and original box and the white face seamaster my dad wore pretty frequently and I wore throughout coast guard boot camp

Always wanted one! Always a little out of my budget though haha. I like these big faced, masculine looking watches. My style. Plus... Space Race. USA USA USA!

My uncle has Thr original Omega moon watch. It had a slightly different dial...and was manual wind. I prefer manual trucks and automatic watches.

If you guys haven't already checked out The Time Teller on YouTube, you should go watch some of his stuff. He is definitely one of my favorite YouTube personalities, and has a lot of good and informative videos about watches.

Here is his latest video where he is giving away a Vostok Amphibia:

I'm not knocking the guy, but having worked on a couple of Vostok movements, I'd rather work on the tripleC quality movements (tripleC=Cheap Chinese Crap). The tool set he touts is ok but if you're going to do it right & you have the micro-mechanical experience, then you already know about the kits available from Esslinger & other supply houses. Having said that, I'd highly recommend NOT opening the back of your watches, especially if they are still under warranty. A week doesn't go by that I don't see a botched DIY battery replacement that costs 10x-20x to fix instead of just paying my shop $5 to do in 5 minutes. I'll just through this out there as well. Don't take your watch to Walmart for a battery.

The 1st indication that you shouldn't, is the legal waiver they make you sign that releases them of all responsibility when they damage your watch. Over the years we've kept track of the most costly damage they've done. So far the worst is $150 damage to a $300 watch that didn't use a battery in the first place. They just saw an empty place inside, jammed a battery in there & forced the back on.

If you really want to get in on the watchmakers' (& consumer's) controversy going on right now, give this a read. Tell your senators, representatives & the FTC your opinion(s).
