I need a another watch like I need a hole in my oil pan, but my new Seiko just wears way too big and I'm contemplating a Lorier now.

It's definitely Seamaster 300 inspired and has the same movement that my new Seiko has, so it's probably a pretty good watch................ https://www.lorierwatches.com/products/neptune

Giving the ProTrek a little sunshine. It's my "if you were stuck on a desert island" watch.

Great find! It has a very nice Explorer/BlancPain groove to it, with a touch of Omega. For the money and a NH35A, you can't go wrong. Do it

Congratulations, looks like the ceramic bezel. I got mine last Christmas as a present from my wife. Just took it in for a one year service since it was offered as part of the purchase price.

I see the federal courthouse and federal correctional center to the left. My guess is that you work on or around Columbia and Broadway, correct?

Finally got me a Seiko. :yay:

I’ve wanted one for years because there is just something elegant and classic about an automatic movement.
I didn’t like the idea of buying a used one, so I finally saved up and bought one new. I love it so far, but I’m totally paranoid about getting that first scratch on the crystal!

Aw man you guys got me going...just read through this whole thread and it is awesome!

    Below is my watch collection.

Top row L to R: TW Steel F1 Renault Edition / Nixon / MVMT /Panerai
Bottom row L to R: Rolex Perpetual Datejust Blue Stick Dial / Breed / Rado Diastar Dress Watch 1970

    IMG_2915.jpg

The Rolex is my daily driver. Love the smaller face...fits my skinny wrists perfectly. She could really use a bath though!

    IMG_2921.jpg

I get a ton of compliments on this Rado as well. My grandpa got it on a cruise ship when he had time off in the military back in the 70's. Swiss made.

    IMG_2923.jpg

Lastly some watch Panerai watch porn...the face is way too big for my wrists so I barely wear this one.

Today at work I'm wearing my Bulova Catamount. Great watch with a smooth sweeping seconds hand, dead accuracy and 300m depth. Only issue is that it eats batteries.

The crystal and case are still in great shape, just the bezel insert makes it look worn. I would think about a new insert as that one is too far gone. To me, that would still keep the character of the watch while giving it more wear time. Just keep the old insert, in case you want to go back.
Definitely get a nice strap for it. I've found dive watches look really good with a thick leather band. It really makes them pop.

I just noticed that it's a quartz, so he can probably drop a whole new movement in cheaply.

I'm still pretty new to watch appreciation, but quartz movements are the basic battery operated type and Seiko manufactures the "guts" for a lot of other watch brands. I went down an entire rabbit hole on youtube the other day, but it sounds like the quartz movements are pretty affordable to swap.

Thanks. The SKX is one of my first automatics and the strap was something I made to compliment it.
