Next up is my Rolex Daytona.

    20200310_104357.jpg 20200310_104419.jpg

Okay, my VERY OBVIOUSLY FAKE Rolex Daytona LOL! I bought this while I was traveling in China knowing full well what it was and wasn't. I love it for many reasons but mostly the experience. I had a local guide showing me around Beijing and when she asked me if there was anything else I wanted to see I was like "yea, where do they sell all the cool knock of crap?". So she takes me to this basement in an old run down mall to this place that had mostly fake flowers and baskets and shit for sale. She says the magic password or does the hands shake or whatever (big dumb white guy has money), and they open up a hidden door to a whole other shop full of knock off watches and hand bags and stuff. Very surreal and such an only in China moment!

I actually wear this on occasion, and it's a surprisingly decent watch. Many people that don't have a good eye think it's real until I tell them otherwise which is kind of sad.

Now onto my favorite watches. This Seiko is the first "real" watch I ever bought. It was back in high school when a local department store closed so they had deep discounts on everything I the last couple of days before they closed. I think retail on it was over $300 and I got it for like $50 or so. That probably means it was actually worth like a hundred bucks or so but I was very proud of it.

It's a Seiko kinetic watch. Unfortunately I took it apart and replaced the crystal and the little rechargeable battery in it myself. The crystal turned out pretty good but the watch will not hold a charge, so I guess I botched the battery/capacitor replacement. I keep it because someday I'd love to have it fixed but I doubt the cost would be worth the value of the watch, particularly since the watch maker would have to deal with my diy job. I'm open to thoughts on this if anyone has any. I'd love to have this watch working again...

And last but not least my all time favorite watch, and it seems I'm in good company with @crashnburn80 my stauer dashtronic. I saw this watch in an ad in one of those in flight magazines and was totally in love. I tire out the page and gave it to my wife saying "either you get me this for my birthday, or I do!" And yes she got me the watch. I get lots of compliments and questions on this watch when I wear it.

I would very much like to get one or two of the actual vintage "jumping movement" watches that this design is based on some day.

Lotta Seikos in this thread, but I didn't see any like mine. I've worn this one daily since 2004, and another Seiko before this one since 1978. Before that I had one of the second gen Pulsars, that broke after only about 5 years.

My favorite by far, but I like vintage mechanical things. It does always gets noticed and questions. Funny as I had said a similar thing to my GF getting the watch.

I tried on a new Submariner ref # 116610 a couple weeks ago. The modifications made to the band is a hit. It’s definitely my next watch.

Just pulled this guy out of storage. Issued to me at least 20 years ago. Robust, no frills, no gimmicks, and no logo. Measures approximately 46mm lug to lug, 45mm in width, and 10mm in thickness. It takes a 22mm strap.

Here are my pride and joy. I bought the Breitling a few years ago. Always wanted a batman GMT with the Jubilee bracelet. Finally able to grab one from a dealer in Florida. My everyday watch is a Samsung Gear S3 David SW is a dealer in Florida that sells lightly used expensive watches. Bought mine from him.

I traded a 166110 for the BLNR. The prices for the 166110 went over $10K recently. I paid $7500 from DavidSW. It appreciated enough to trade it on a BLNR. Prices on the pre-worn regular Sub have increased.
I buy all my premium watches from Dave. Online. https://davidsw.com/watches/rolex/

My alternating dailies before COVID-19 shut everything down. Now they just wait for the days of mesh shorts or sweats to be over with.
