Still rockin the Seiko, but I'm still not totally in love with the blacked out look. Threw it on a CheapestNato that showed up in the mail yesterday.

Im seriously considering picking up a Seiko to try my hand at modding. I bought my dad a 5 for fathers day and he loves it.

Some beautiful watches in here. I'm a complete noob but was recently bit by the watch bug. Decided I wanted to get a real watch in hopes I'll put my damn phone down more! A coworker gave me a great intro and I've been casually looking for my first watch for a little while but running into some decision making paralysis!

I totally see now how people would want multiple watches. Originally I was eyeing a simple starter, something on the more basic and smaller side. Like a Hamilton Khaki Field or one of the more simple field style Seiko 5 but have also been now looking at some of the more diver styled Seiko 5 Sports and Prospex.

    I guess I'll make a decision eventually!

Welcome to The Fold. ;) My buddy that got me into watches had the best quote and best reasoning for wearing a watch...."When I check the time on my phone I get the time, e-mails, news, how my company is doing, and a bunch of other shit I don't need. When I look at my watch I find out what time it is."

I was sold. And it's amazing how much I use it. Of course it helps that they are so interesting and cool! Have fun with it!!

I've had this watch forever. I work for a Lexus dealership and a customer brought it back because of the scratched date glass (even though he scratched it). Just a basic Jules Jurgensen 7801ss. It sat in my dresser drawer for years until I wanted to start wearing watches. Of course I had to replace the battery. But also realized that didn't fix it so I had to replace the movement too. Luckily it's a $15 quartz movement. Had no idea how to do any of this so I bought a cheap watch tool kit and watched some Youtube. It was a cheap watch to learn how to do this stuff.

Can’t recommend the Khaki Field enough. I can wear that thing everywhere. Wear it to work on a NATO and not worry about it since it’s a hand-wind. Throw a leather strap on it and wear it to dinner. Excellent first piece!!

If you use Reddit, check r/watchexchange and pick you up a used one on the cheap. That’s what I did.

This beauty punches WAY above it's weight. Dial changes from gold to champagne to silver depending on the light. Re-issue from Timex a few years ago and it's a hand wound. Gotta wind it up every day. :)Marlin.jpg

A Rolex Submariner is an investment. I bought one four years ago Paid $7500. Now they are $10G + The new watches go up in price and it lifted the older watch prices.

I love watches but I keep coming back to my G-Shock since I feel like I can do just about anything while wearing it and not worry about it.

If you pay attention to the watch world you learn pretty quickly that nearly every watch enthusiast/collector has at least one G-Shock. They hold a special place in those circles. I find it refreshing that in a world where money and prestige can be common everyone appreciates the G-Shock. Cool, fun, bulletproof watches.

I'll get me a g-shock one of these days. My tough solar has been awesome.

So first I like value for money. Or maybe I'm just cheap. Either way I've been wanting to add a cheap Casio to the collection. I was really debating between this classic A158 or the slightly larger A168 with the better back light. I went with the A158 simply because I liked the gold face. BUT this sucker is TINY! It looks larger in the photos. Luckily my old eyes can still see the time. I'm debating sending it back for the A168 but I can light l only find that one with the black face, which I'm not a fan of. This does feel really cheap but it's $25 so it makes sense. And it's VERY light which is awesome.

I like it. My Casio "Pac Man" is on backorder. Seriously debating leaving it in the box for 10 years then selling it. I have a Casio analog watch that a buddy bought for me. He has one too. We jokingly refer to it as "The Pope Watch" after a watch web site posted him wearing one. It was $12 and the lightest most comfortable watch I own. It often beats out my $5k Tudor for my daily wear. :)
