I bought a Tag Heuver a few years on a cruise ship just to spoil myself and I wear it every day, everywhere. It had a list of 1400 but got it for 1100 without sales tax. It just makes me fell good, not trying to impress others, but I feel like I deserve nice stuff....

I have two, I have a 28 year old Seiko, keeps perfect time and a 8 year old Luminox. Hands down I love the Luminox. I wear glasses and at night I could not see the clock, (my wife's side of the bed). The Luminox glows bright enough to almost read a book, not quite but very very bright.

I sport a 600 dollar watch on a regular basis.
4 digits-I'd have to look at the watch-but that's probably a stretch to say it's more useful or better than a timex or more moderately priced "nice" watch. Since the OP was talking less than 500...That where I thought you were talking too.

Every man needs a nice watch to rock once in awhile and a beater for work etc.

I have a Bulova. No remorses.

Depends on your taste and how much you want the watch. To me, a watch is timeless.

Then again, I'm a watch whore.

I have one watch thats over 2k. another around 1600. Then a few others in the $500 range.

I like watches and I wear them all for different reasons. Could I just get a Casio or Timex..Sure I can. However, I like the finer things in life. My relatives have a Rolex and Breitling. Thats around 6k to 12k on your wrist. It all depends on your lifestyle and your pockets.

If I had deeper pockets, I'd have a better watch.

Hope that helps. Every man should own ONE Expensive going out watch. It makes you feel Amazing.

    Like KANYE said,

"I'm so self conscious/Thats why you always see me with at least one of my watches"

For some reason I really like watches and often look at them in the stores, but I don't wear one. I haven't worn one in about 10 years. I guess it was probably about the same time I got a phone. I still have a $150 watch in my drawer that I've been meaning to put a battery in for about 7 years, but never got around to it. I guess you would have to call that a waste of $150.

Never understood why some guys are so into buying expensive watches...my buddy has a ton of watches including a $1,500 Movado. I just don't get it...I hate having anything around my wrist anyway. All it does it get in the way.

You can pretty much go anywhere in the developed world, and you'll be within sight of a clock of some sort.

To me a nice watch just makes me feel good wearing it. I have a crappy Fossil watch that I got back in high school and I rarely ever even wore it then because well I felt it was crappy. Now I have my citizen and I find it to be a very nice watch and have gotten multiple compliments on it and I wear it everywhere.

    Its all preference.

Why do people have so many guns?

Why do people pour money into a vehicle that goes from A to B?

Why do some Women have to sleep with so many Men?

Why do some Guys Masturbate more than 1 time a Day?

It all comes down to preference and to what makes one smile. We all can't like nor desire the same thing.

I am a huge watch guy, so I am a little biased. I have two Rolex watches, one submariner and a sea dweller. I have been looking at getting a Breitling or an Omega, but every time I get extra money it seems to go toward the truck. Anyways...I think you can't go wrong spending money on a good watch.

buy what you like! the most I've paid for a watch is about 1600.00 for 2000m diver watch no 8 of 300. i like to collect watches form many different brands. the best watches I own are some g-shocks like frogman and both my citizen aqualand very tough watches. the more you pay for a watch is for how rare it is and quality of it. for your info most swiss watch from +500 dallor range use ETA movements " companies mod the movement to call it theirs" such as omega, invicta and many more. good example in invicta most their watch use miyota movements made by citizen so you buying citizen in a different case and there swiss movement watches are all eta movements. so what are really paying for.

    Well said....
My father bought me a real high dollar one that one day I hope to pass along to my son. I have this really expensive one and a Timex Ironman (a must for any man). Used to have a Luminox and it was really nice. For some reason it fit on my wrist funny so I got rid of it.

I'm with you on that. Expensive watches still just don't make any sense to me...I can't put my finger on it.

Honestly, if I ever bought a watch, it would probably be broken within a week...just doing the things I normally do for work and for fun. :)

I'm fairly confident that the watch I'm looking at has a Valjoux 7750 movement, Chrono grade, 25 jewels. Please elaborate (wikipedia gives me little to go on).
